he'd give you one good year, but with a new HC and all, i don't think it'd end in a SB, so there's not much point... we've got a young guy with upside and some proven success, so we might as well not set him back again.

I want to win. I'm not sold on Campbell. Collins was a # 3 QB with the Skins after I guess being the most tenured backup in NFL history. Brennan is a total unknown at the NFL level. So, who knows what will happen. After the draft, it looks like our passing game could take a real step up. I have decided to give Zorn every benefit of the doubt in his personnel decisions. If he wants Farve we get him, we'll win. If he doesn't want Farve, we can win too. I think Zorn wants to win now and will make tough decisions. He's not the great loyalist (Ie. Joe Gibbs and Brunell); he not just an ole ball coach (Spurrier). I'm supporting Jim Zorn. P.S. At $13 Million/year, we probably can't afford Farve anyway.

NFL Radio has brought this up a lot. There are a lot of connections that could lead someone to see Favre here. The type of West Coast system we'll be running is one Favre has seen a lot since it's going to basically be just like the Holmgren system.

Secondly, we don't have an entrenched QB. Not only is Jason Campbell still young and fairly unproven. But he's also not Zorn's "guy." While Zorn may like his future, he's not attached to him like coaches that use first round picks on QBs typically are.

Finally, we're a playoff team with a decent amount of talent. Favre will be looking for someone that has a chance.

Anyhow, Im torn on the issue. Favre is better than Jason Campbell, and it is a new offense for the young guy (yet again) letting him get a grasp on the playbook for a year or two. At the same time, I'm kinda ready for the Jason Campbell era. Time to see him sink or swim. If we go after him, I'll support the decision. If we don't, then I won't be upset in the least. Just trying to say, there are many reasons why Favre could at least be rumored to show up in DC.

While I would never rule anything out with this team, I would put the chances of this happening at slightly above Jordan coming back to the Wizards. While Campbell may not be a Zorn guy, in the sense of being developed or drafted by him, Zorn was brought into the fold initially with the express purpose of developing Campbell. That's why they went with a quarterback guy over someone with perhaps a more established pedigree. Every off season move that has been criticized by the punditry - the run at CJ and the receiver happy draft class - has largely been justified by the brass as an effort to give Campbell what he needs to win, and win now. Thus, while Zorn's mission is of course to win games, it is do to it with Campbell.

Of course there is going to be media speculation linking us to Favre, but that means absolutely nothing in the larger scheme of things. They've linked us to every player who has ever been a free agent ever.

djnemo -- Drafting WRs doesn't exactly scream win now to me. Typically, it takes 2-3 years to see what you have in a WR. As I said, Im not sure where I really stand on the issue, just trying to say I don't consider it a huge stretch for us to be in the consideration for Favre.

It has nothing to do with winning now, my point was that they are building around Campbell, giving him the weapons to succeed as a quarterback. I really don't think the fact that they are sold on Campbell is open to debate, at least not going into this season.

People are putting way too much thought into this. The idea that the Skins should go after Brett Favre is laughable.
