I think this is more about Lawrence Timmons then a cap cut. Timmons could walk in and start on a lot of teams in the NFL yet he's been on the Steelers bench for a couple of years.

From what I know about the guy, he is a middle linebacker. He also has said he wants to play in Detroit.
