Perhaps Phillip Daniels aspires to an educational standard for his son that is as high as the football standard might be as offered by an "SEC school".
I am neither a Notre Dame lover nor a hater. But anyone who would argue that an honestly earned degree from Notre Dame does not have a real lifetime value is myopic at best and idiotic at worst. Whatever decision the Daniels' family makes regarding the college selection for their son, I hope it works out splendidly for all concerned.

I and my hiring decision colleagues all valued degrees from about 50 schools in the country a lot more than from the others. Notre Dame was one of those schools - - as was The Citadel.
