Charles Rogers

If he becomes a FA wouldn't Charles Rogers be a good pickup for the Skins? I mean if the general media feels that hypothetically Gibbs could handle T.O. than a guy like Rogers who has a lot to prove would be a breeze to take care.

Re: Charles Rogers

If we trade away LaVar to Philly then we could sign TO and Dominate the NFL

Re: Charles Rogers

A year ago in these very annals, we had folks proclaiming that the Skins could trade Rod Gardner for a first round pick. That didn't quite happen.

LaVar Arrington is a much better player than Rod Gardner to be sure but his contract limits his trade value by a whole lot. He will not bring a Pro-bowl caliber player in return in a trade; he will not bring a first round pick as an even-up trade. He could be part of a package deal that might bring in some high pick or a really good player, but it will not be for Arrington even-up.

And let me suggest that one of the WORST things that could happen to this franchise at this moment of history would be for "Gibbs to let Danny do the dialing".

Here is one of the BEST things that can happen to this franchise at this moment of history: Danny Boy and his new playmate Mark Shapiro focus their attention 24/7 on creating new rides and new ways to pick the pockets of people who go to Six Flags Amusement Parks. That will leave neither of them any time to pretend that either could make a good football decision other than by dumb luck.

Isn't Rogers always hurt? And don't we hate Taylor because he is always hurt?

Exactly. I was going to say that if you thought Taylor Jacobs was always hurt wait till you get a look at Rogers. However, I don't hate Taylor cause he's always hurt, I don't like him cause he can't play. He flat out isn't cut out for the NFL. I feel the same way about Charles Rogers and this kid gets suspended for substance abuse.

Re: Charles Rogers

It would probably end horribly and I will later kick myself for saying this, but something about Rogers intrigues me. Maybe I am blinded by the glitz of the #2 overall pick...I guess I should remind myself that Ryan Leaf was also picked #2...oh and of course Michael Westbrook was #4...

I had the same thing with Akili Smith for a long time. I would tell people "he didn't get drafted that high for nothing." Yeah, well, it turns out that he did get drafted that high for nothing. I'm much more willing to give up on players because of that.

Re: Charles Rogers

Charles Rogers brings with him all the uncertainty that you would get with TO. Rogers is always a step away from a big time injury and/or a substance abuse situation. TO is always one step away from carving up the locker room into factions. Both receivers come with huge baggage. Here's the difference:

Terrell Owens has shown that he is one of the top 3 receivers in the NFL at the moment. Charles Rogers has yet to show that he is one of the top 50 receivers in the NFL.

Rogers is a ticking time bomb but without the likelihood of a big onfield payoff. I wouldn't touch him with a ten-foot pole - - even if I could find one of them lying around here.

Re: Charles Rogers

Hey there is a difference between being injury prone and cant play.

Jacobs is both!!!

Westbrook didnt work out because he was injured all the time. but when he was healthy, he was Very good. He did have a 1000 yard season.

50/50 had a 1000 yard season and he sucks... thrash put up 800 yards, it means absolutely nothing.
