"6. I think I'm hearing ominous signs out of Washington that first-round pick Sean Taylor does not want to be a Redskin. But I wouldn't expect Joe Gibbs to be too worried. He'll figure this one out."

Peter King, MMQB

What is this founded on? Joe Crisp, have you heard anything to back this up?

I was just going to post the same thing. Peter King is well respected in his line of work and unlike Lenny Pasta has seemed to have shown an even hand when judging the Redskins. This thing is concerning if for no other reason then that it has to have some foundation for a writer like King to place it in his column.

That said, he seemed to difuse the subject with the opinion that Gibbs will figure this one out.

Tho, if Sean is not giving the impression to media types that he is happy in DC, thats immature to say the least and disconcerning to say the most.

As always in Redskin Land, the plot thickens.

I'm gonna be pissed if KWII signs faster than Taylor. Do we know who his new agent(s) is/are yet?

Any idea what or where this is from? I just tried King's espn.com stuff and have found nothing.

King is on Sports Illustrated's site. I wouldn't put too much credence in this statement. He just likes writing, so he'll write nearly anything. Here are some more tidbits from the same column.

8. I think Jim Haslett can sleep easy these days, because he loves defensive linemen, especially ones who can dominate in a rotation. After adding Ohio State DE Will Smith in the first round he now has seven of them who could start for virtually any team in the league.

Huh? He has collapsed in December the past three years, but he's seven deep at a two player position, so everything's OK?

10. I think, eight months from now, we'll see a Seattle-Jacksonville Super Bowl. Unless John Fox interferes.

Jacksonville? I don't know where to start with this one. When I think great coaching minds, I think Jack Del Rio - as soon as he keeps his players from cutting off their feet in the clubhouse.

I don't buy it.. If that was the case, why did he come to the press conference, minicamp and been talking up how happy he is to Portis? I think this is probably agents trying to get him to sign up and whomever he's scorned (Rosenhaus, maybe the Postons if he picks Eugene Parker) trying to smear his name.. Peter King's information is usually shady at best.. He's going to be in a top 15 defense, featuring him, with a defensive coordinator who will probably put him in a position to be defensive rookie of the year.. Yeah, he doesn't want to be a Redskin.

It is amazing to me that some of you nimwits think you know more about the pulse of the NFL then Peter King.

The man makes a living writing these columns and is profiled on HBO's Inside the NFL. And you Joe Potatohead from some beach town in Delaware know more about NFL football and/or Sean Taylor then he?!?

I mean, disagree if you want but to discredit his column like you know better then he... just who is the loser in that equation?!?

Watch the insults. This post was totally uncalled for and out of line with how we do things on the Warpath.

I'm not going to say that Peter King is just writing fluff but the fact is that, probably because of our desire to get information so fast thanks to new media such as the Internet, King puts out a lot of "rumors" many of which may not have much basis to them in the first place. But he has to write something. Wasn't it Peter King who said Joe Gibbs promised Kellen Winslow he'd be their pick?

He was also the guy who said that if anyone would hire Deion Sanders as a coach, it would be Dan Snyder.

Just for that Drkstar, you can't come to my beach party.

The reason I listed those quotes - and they could apply to nearly any analysis of the league from any writer - is to point out the fact that writers who write solely about the league are prone to specualtion this time of year. Add to that the fact that King's Monday column is (no disrespect intended) a collection of his musings about the league, rather than substantive analysis (the quotes are from the section "Ten Things I Think I Think"), and you have merits for the debate that I'd hoped to cause.

Since you chose to set the parameters for this debate with insults about my oversized potato-head (about which I am extremely sensitive), I hereby offer you this rejoinder: You are a stinkface.

LOL
This just in "I think Peter King has been hired to be Sean Taylor's new agent."

Drkstar,
I know you think the force is strong in Peter King. But he is not Luke's father.

Joe Crisp,
As usual, you are the calm voice of reason to calm the angry self proclaimed genious.
You are right, since when does anyone take seriously any quote that begins with "I think..."

Angry Drkstar use your brain properly before u defend the enemy peter-Liar-King or zimmerma

:cheeky-sm ______ Drkstar use your brain properly before u defend the enemy peter-Liar-King or zimmermanure. – Or is it malfunction??.

Well, every1 who are real Redskins fan know that peter-Liar-King is a diehard giants fan who very much hate Dan Snyder & Redskins.
--- Now that the giants FO has been fumbling with KCollins—EManning disaster and Tom Coughlin bad reception in giants locker room, peter-Liar-King is just trying to voodoo his way into creating Sean Taylor fiasco within Redskins organization.

*
We all know that Sean Taylor is buddy buddy with Clinton Portis. – All along Clinton had been saying the magic word "Sean Taylor" whenever he crossed path with coach Gibbs. – Surely, CP will not let coach Gibbs down, knowing that ST does not want to play for coach Gibbs.

Re: DRosenhaus
We do not know the real story yet. – Nowadays the good agent will not only negotiate contract with the FO, but she/he will also acts as a top financial advisor & in some instance acts as a "Father—Figure" for those players who were raised by single moms.

Perhaps, DRosenhaus has made a series of bad investments for some other players. – Sean Taylor is spooked by these news and fired DRosenhaus so that he can hire competent financial advisor.

– Or perhaps, Sean Taylor has been tipped off by his father (Florida City – Chief of Police) that DRosenhaus has been linked to some shady white collar crime, and ST wants to distance himself from such scandalous agent.

*
Check this story -- why Postons brother are well respected among some players. – Note: After reading the article, I still dislike the win—lose tactic or the war symbol deployed by the Postons during negotiation with some team.

This is funny stuff. Nah man, I am a huge Washington Redskins fan. No worries about me liking the Cowpukes. Now as for my brain, all I will say in my defense is this....

I was posting a opinion. You have one too bro, as well as an asshole. And as they say about opinions; they are alot like assholes. Everyone has one and they all stink.

Disagree with me if you must, but believe it or not I am a pretty smart guy who has a huge passion for the Washington Redskins and an insatiable appetite for knowledge on said passion. Now I dont subscribe to the X Files conspiracy theories you do and I will refrain from taking slams at ya because frankly, I have pissed enough people off today. I will just say this.... Peter King knows more then you. But then, I digress....
