I'm Starting Another Betts Trade Rumor
Apparently, Dom Davis might not even make the Texans roster
Texans' Davis in danger of being cut so....Betts to Texas?

Betts isn't worth as much as we like to think he is, I personally don't see him getting traded (either due to us keeping him or because no-one wants him).
Houston have Morency and now probably starter Wali Lundi I think if DD can't go the other 2 will provide a pleasant suprise. |

Wow, man it sucks to be a Texan fan. First they don't take Bush, now they lose their best RB? Oh well, it wasn't like they were playoff contenders anyway. To the gutter Batman, to the gutter.
Betts is still worth something to us. If they want Betts now, I want a 2nd rounder and a 4th rounder at least.

I cant imagine Houston cutting their franchise running back. I mean if Davis really isnt making progress...and they feel this thing is gonna linger throughout most of the season...the worst i could see them doing is putting the man on IR...that way at least he would be available again next year.
But yeah...earlier i read a similar article...where the texans coach was saying that if the season started today...their rookie 6th round running back pick would be the starter...i also immediately thought that they would be a potential desination for ladell. I like ladell and all...and think he's a talented back...but honestly...i believe we kinda have a logjam now at running back. I mean if you consider...that on average...we'll prolly run the ball an average of like 30-35 times a game...then its really gonna be hard to get everybody their carries with all the guys we have right now. I would imagines Portis...is gonna get his 15-25 carries a game... and that leaves what like 5 carries or less a piece for betts and duckett...not to mention cartwright... I dunno...it seems like if we brought in duckett...and gave up what we did for him...it was cause the coaches felt he fit the scheme better than betts...and in that case i could see us getting some good value for betts now...maybe get a backup lineman...or that 3rd rounder we gave up for duckett back. |

i think theyre going to put davis on ir and i dont think smith will make the team,their other rb's have looked pretty good in preseason,but they would probably interested in aquiring betts if we were interested in trading him,plus they have first rights to anybody that is cut,they might pick up someone that way,maybe ron dayne

Yeah he could end up on IR, which seems likely. But it still means no RB for this year. More importantly though, how much faith can they have in Davis long term? Didn't he miss several games last year as well?
