NFC East rumors

just looking over fox sports football page, and glanced thru the rumors section. 2 rumors, that would effect the skins, the giants are interested in Chicago linebacker Lance Briggs, in my opinion, Briggs is a big time, play making linebacker, that i want as far away from the NFC east as possible. the other is that Dante Stallworth, the Philly eagles free agent wide out, is looking for a big payday. and we all know that means some where other then Philly. this is good news for skins fans, Stallworth continually made big plays for the eagles. and with Mcnabb coming back, could have been a nightmare for the skins secondary. any thoughts?

Re: nfc east rumors

With Briggs, Pierce, and (a healthy) Arrington, the Giants would have an excellent LB corps. However, the Giants need a lot of help at DT and in the secondary.

I hope we never see that. Just Briggs and Pierce alone would be a force.

Healthy Arrington-words you rarely see in a sentence together like Interception, Carlos Rogers or Classy Jerry Jones..

I think Garcia and Stallworth was a bigger threat than McNabb and Stallworth was this year. It will be interesting to see how thing go if McNabb is 1) still injured at the begining of the year and Garcia is back and winning games or 2) McNabb is strugling and loosing games while Garcia is sitting on the bench. If McNabb is healthy and looses the first couple of games it could get real fun to watch.

I doubt that Garcia will return to Philly - he's made it abundantly clear that he would leave Philly if the "right situation" (i.e., a starting job) presented itself.
As for McNabb-Stallworth, they were a good duo when Stallworth was healthy, which wasn't that often.

He is turning 37 this month and I just don't see a team that would want him as a one year starter in a new system. Maybe 2 years at best.

A team that takes a QB in the draft would most definately want Garcia there. Are you kidding? Garcia proved he is a pretty damn good QB in a west coast offense. If he can get a job running that style of offense, he will start.

Yeah I agree. On a team that runs the west coast system he'd be an ideal one year starter to provide time for a rookie to develop behind him.

Lloyd certainly got a big deal for a guy that never broke a 1000 yds.

Ya he did. I think Lloyd was the guy last year that made like a sick one handed catch almost every game. That probably caught Mr. Snyders eye and he almost blew one all over his checkbook when he heard the magic words:

Free Agency

It was worse than that because he still had 1 year left on his deal, but yet we went ahead and gave him one of those giant contracts. What is wrong with those people?

Yeah giving Lloyd a seven year deal backloaded with a redick signing bonus was stupid.

Don't forget the third and the fourth we sent too!
