Who Stays, Who Goes?
Well here we are again. At the crossroads, where coaches and players meet to discuss whether a Bentley is within the budget or a bus ticket to the unemployment line. I have several veterans who I think will not be returning. James Thrash, Mark Brunell,Ade Jimoh and Khari Campbell. Jimoh is a decent special teams guy but never transferred the talent as a CB in coverage. I mean damn, just take a look at the Redskins website and you see Jimoh on the highlights and photos out of position. Like Jimoh, Campbell's strength is in special teams. But has a LB who can stop the run and drop back in coverage? I don't think that's what GW is expecting. Basically, H.B. Blades just out tackled all of the LBs in the league with 21 before the Jacksonville game. The rest of the guys are:
Askew Beasley Bell Berman Bradford Brown Brunell -Seahawks Buzbee Doughty Edwards Lefotu Nordin Sinclair Trucks Thrash Albright Boshetti Armstrong Sartz

You don't think Eubanks showed enough during the preseason?

Yeah SUNRA, you don't want to piss off Albright. You'll be finding short red curlies in your food for weeks.

On a personal level I wouldn't wanna see Doughty go because of his child. Can't help but feel for the guy.

Re: Who Stays, Who Goes?
I don't see a receiver on our roster that will take the 4th receiver spot from Thrash. He's reliable, has good hands, and busts his ass on special teams.
There are 75 guys listed on the roster (according to Redskins.com). Eighteen cuts from my ignorant eyes: Berman, Carl Hoag, Ryan Toler, Burl Nordin, Jake Edwards, Eric Armstrong, Calvin Brown, Dee Mason, Marcus (Practice Squad) Brunell, Mark (trade to someone for a 5th) Whitley, Taylor Fabini, Jason Trucks, Anthony (Practice Squad) Sinclair, Matt Askew, Matthias Torrence, Leigh Westbrook, Byron (Practice Squad) Wilson, Chris Bell, Brian There are certainly vulnerable players left on the 53-man roster. I'd expect that Bradford would be expendable if McCardell wants to keep playing. The right player cut from the right franchise might shake things up here as well.

Re: Who Stays, Who Goes?
Practice squad predictions Buzbee, Hickman, Mason, Westbrook, Sartz and that animal who chased down the play with no helmet! Love that guy.
From everything I have read Chris Wilson is making the team. Bold prediction: Trucks make the team. |
