Draft Class of 2007 Very Poor
I cant believe that they threw away draft choices for both Sartz and Palmer. I was so proud of them last year for Montgomery and Golston and they go and get us these two poor choices. By the way, who in the hell thought Boschetti was better than Wynn and the rest of the line men.

Yeah I know, but they maximized every pick last year, but Lefotu. I gues we should be happy with Blades and Landry was a no brainer.

Re: Draft Class of 2007 Very Poor
When you only have 1 first round pick and lower end picks your draft is going to suck. Blades was a nice pickup the rest except for Landry were wastes. Why draft a qb who should be practice squad fodder. WE should have kept MB in case of a dire emergency, now we have a shitty rookie for 3rd strong qb.

Re: Draft Class of 2007 Very Poor
Arizona just cut their 3rd round pick Buster Davis. That's an example of a shitty draft, when you take a player in the 3rd round and he doesn't even make the final roster. We got Landry and Blades out of this draft and we don't know how Palmer is gonna turn out, maybe in a few seasons or so he could mature to the point where he could be a #2. So it wasn't an entirely wasted draft. If you want to look at an entirely wasted draft, go look at our 2003 draft.

Re: Draft Class of 2007 Very Poor
We got potentially 2 cornerstones for our defenses in the future in Landry and Blades. And Buster Davis was a good player in Florida State.

Re: Draft Class of 2007 Very Poor
If Landry and Blades are starters in the next couple years I regard this as a good draft considering we had no picks in 2-4.
the %s are never good for 6 & 7th rounders. I'm disappointed that Palmer couldn't make the practice squad, but he didn't do much to deserve it. We really need to groom a young backup to JC. |

Re: Draft Class of 2007 Very Poor
Buster Davis might have been a great player at Florida State, but that doesn't equal being great in the NFL. I can name plenty of players that were good or great in college but didn't pan out in the NFL. I'm saying Arizona coaches can't be that good when it comes to drafting because they just used a 3rd round pick on a guy and he ended up getting cut after preseason. 3rd round picks are generally expected to not only make the team, but be reliable starters for years to come. We recently signed our 2004 3rd rounder to a big extension because he lived up to his draft status.
@FreddyG: Palmer might still make the practice squad, he's been cut and he meets the requirements, so we might see him end up there after noon tomorrow.

• The Patriots apparently didn't like this draft. Only two choices -- safety Brandon Meriweather and defensive end Kareem Brown -- made the 53-man roster. The Patriots cut four second-day choices and placed two more on injured reserve; another was waived because of injury. From the start of camp, teams were hearing the Patriots weren't going to keep many of their second-day selections. For them, it's wait until next year. Here is the whole article - according to Clayton, a lot of draft choices didn't make the cut. ESPN - Clayton: Cuts in all shapes and sizes - NFL
