Name your week 1 MVP
Portis 17 carries, 98 yards, 1 TD. Who needs the preseason??
Randle El: 5 catches, 162 yards. Do we finally have a #2?? Rocky McIntosh: all over the field with a forced fumble, sack, and 9 tackles. Suisham: 3/3 with the game winner. |

Re: Name your week 1 MVP
Gotta be ARE.
He stepped up. No other way to put it. It was his day today, and he caught virtually everything that was thrown to him. Even had a decent punt return. Brandon Lloyd needs to be cut.

Re: Name your week 1 MVP
I'm glad my boy El did well, and my boy AC got a sack!
I'll give this one to Suisham though. I'll tell you what though, someone else who had a really strong game was Pete Kendall. Skins were running behind him and Samuels all day.

I think Stephon Heyer needs honorable mention.

Agreed 100%. Not easy shift from LT to RT, he also wasn't even expecting to play. He performed well.

Re: Name your week 1 MVP
When healthy, Clinton Portis is the best player on the team. Period. He proved that again today.

Re: Name your week 1 MVP
I have to agree and with the EXCELLENT rotation with Betts today this running duo is going to be a force this year! Keep em fresh and run the hell out of it!

I agree, I voted for Rocky, he was a beast, plus lets not get it twisted now, London Fletcher makes this D go!

Re: Name your week 1 MVP
I agree. He pretty much singlehandedly drove us down the field in OT. Betts did well, but every time Clinton got the ball, it was at least five yards and he was moving the pile forward. I kept yelling for Gibbs to put him back in the game, and when I saw us open the OT with him on the field, I knew we'd win.

Re: Name your week 1 MVP
ARE accounted for what, 80% of our passing yards? He's definately the MVP of the game. If an Ed Block Courage award was doled out on a weekly basis, I'd give on to Heyer for stepping up as an UFA rookie LT who played well at RT.

Re: Name your week 1 MVP
I had to go with Rocky here. He was a wrecking ball on D all day. Without him I don't think we would have won. ARE got a lot of yards, which is great to see, but how many of them turned into nothing. Not blaming him, just not sure if he was MVP.

Re: Name your week 1 MVP
I loved what I saw in every single one of those players today. I had to decide between Suisham and Randle El (I knew buying his jersey would pay off). Great game though, my heart was about to bust out of my rib cage.
