Re: Tony McGee Eagles Questions
Here is my question having nothing to do with the game... is this Tony McGee's user name exclusively for posts? I have been on this site for awhile and can't tell for sure.

Re: Tony McGee Eagles Questions
Ha, no. I'm a user who conducts the interviews with Tony Every week, so this is my s/n not Tony's specifically, but he gives me the information to post when I post his reactions.

Re: Tony McGee Eagles Questions
That's what I thought based on some of your posts... but it was worth the question.

Re: Tony McGee Eagles Questions
Tony, a lot of people here want to fire Gibbs asap, as is usually the case after a loss. If it was your call to make would you tell Joe Gibbs he has to step down as head coach (regardless of how the rest of the season played out)?

Re: Tony McGee Eagles Questions
Tony, it's obvious what has plagued us this year, as well as every year since Gibbs has returned. It's the same thing over and over. Questionable play calling and clock management, and bad fundamental football (penalties, drops, fumbles, etc). Then throw in the 2nd half collapses that are becoming an awful trademark. At what point does this consistent inconsistency fall straight at the feet of the coaches, and what if anything, is the cure?

Re: Tony McGee Eagles Questions
Tony, given all the inexperience on this team going into the season, and the fast start we enjoyed, is there any way this year can be considered a success even if we miss the playoffs?

Re: Tony McGee Eagles Questions
Tony, understand that a lot of the lack of discipline falls onto the coaching staff. But at what point do the players need to start looking in the mirror and realize they are adults paid (paid well) to do the basics? As sort of a follow up: In your playing days, how much time did the coaching staff spend on fundamentals (blocking, tackles, etc.) with the players, or is it assumed that at the NFL level the players should be able to handle that on their own?

Re: Tony McGee Eagles Questions
Tony, Bill Belichick shows little emotion on the sidelines and in press conferences yet the Patriots are the best team in the league, Tony Dungy shows little emotion on the sidelines and in press conferences yet the Colts are the defending SB Champions. I don't know how they act behind closed doors, but why is it that Redskins fans feel that Gibbs not throwing chairs at press conferences and grabbing players by the facemask on the sidelines during games is a sign that he's old, has no fire in him, and the game has passed him by...when clearly you can win without acting like a raging lunatic?

Re: Tony McGee Eagles Questions
Losing Sean Taylor is a huge blow to a defense that has been holding this team up for several weeks. Going into Dallas, how does this affect the game plan on both sides of the ball?
James Thrash stepped up and did an amazing job in the absence of Santana Moss. Being a former player, does an all out effort such as Thrash's against the Eagles help other players turn it up a notch? Darryl Johnston and Tony Siragusa seemed to harp on the Skins lack of execution late in the game, when they spent the entire 50+ minutes prior moving the ball effortlessly up and down the field. Is this lack of execution squarely on the players, the coaching staff, or both? In recent years, the Redskins cannot seem to play well against division rivals. Since the 2002 season, the Redskins are 10-23 against the NFC East (inflated by the 2005 season, when they were 5-1). What is the reasoning behind such a horrible record against teams the Redskins should be fired up and ready to play?

Re: Tony McGee Eagles Questions
Tony, what the heck happened late in that Eagles game?
Is that the kind of game that can "ruin" a season? Will they be able to shake it off in time for Dallas? |

Re: Tony McGee Eagles Questions
Tony-
Why is it that once the skins enter the 20yd line they tighten up, and turn to the jumbo package bunching everyone together? They basically have 30yds including the endzone to work with, the plays are no longer mixed up.. its all run plays, they become one dimensional and predictable. Who is responsible and since this has been a problem for a few years now, why dont they change it?

Re: Tony McGee Eagles Questions
Greetings Tony, sort of piggy backing on SS post. Does this team have the will to win? They don't seem to have...that "Eye of the Tiger" (insert BIG HAIR BAND 80's tune here). Do we not have the WILL to win, killer instinct, etc. If not why not?
Teams have done much more with less, by.........fightin' their guts out!! Thanx Tony
