Welcome to the real world of politics and campaigning (on both sides).

I don't understand the reason for the title, just like I didn't understand why the Obama bowling one had to be "Democratic Candidate..."

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that based on your last two threads you're not Republican (and possibly despise everything and everyone associated with it).

Wow so he is actually trying to get elected. I thought he'd make a point out of all this and get mauled in the election as a martyr. Or not. It is what it is. To get elected he needs their money. When everyone else stops using corporate money and their influence then I'll get mad at him for not stopping.

That article bored me to tears. Who the hell cares about campaign financing? There are so many more important issues.

Re: McCain: pathetic, phony hypocrite

I hadn't heard of his involvement in the S&L scandal, but I found this:
Keating Five - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Quote:
Before McCain was named the presumptive nominee, The New York Times ran an article on January 28, 2008 revisiting the scandal in addition to some other allegations of inappropriate behavior by McCain. Robert S. Bennett, whom McCain had hired to represent him in this matter, defended McCain's character and was one of many people who criticized the piece. Bennett, who was the special investigator during the Keating Five scandal that The Times revisited in the article, said that he fully investigated McCain back then and suggested to the Senate Ethics Committee to not pursue charges against McCain because of "no evidence against him." Bennett was coincidentally on Hannity and Colmes the night the story broke to talk about his autobiography. On the show, he said that he felt the Committee pursued charges against McCain because, without him, the case would have been entirely against Democrats.

Yeah. There is going to be dirt like this on every single candidate for President, whether it's McCain, Obama, or Hilary. They all push their own agendas from time to time, regardless of what they may say in public. That's just American politics, don't hate the players, hate the game.

They all do it, so to try to smear one or the other is just pointless. Just stick to debating the important issues and decide who you think is the best candidate knowing that everyone pushes an agenda.

Schneed, I couldn't have said it any better myself. As much as I love my candidate, everyone's not going to love or even like who you support.

The fact of the matter is, no single candidate is perfect and not one of them has a corner on policy, truth, or one particular issue. That being said, it's within everyone's right to scrutinize and critisize these candidates as they go through the process of being elected to the nation's highest office. I think people just carried away with it sometimes.
