Strahan Retires.................
Coming Off Super Bowl Win, Strahan To Retire
by Jay Glazer Jay Glazer is a Senior NFL Writer for FOXSports.com on MSN and also appears every week on FOX NFL Sunday as the network's NFL Insider. Updated: June 9, 2008, 10:17 AM EST The New York Giants will begin their road to a defense of their Super Bowl title when mini-camp begins on Wednesday. That defense, however, will be attempted without the services of their team leader Michael Strahan. After a lengthy and — for Strahan — up-and-down decision-making process, Strahan said he's hanging up the cleats and wanted to finalize a decision before his teammates gathered for their mini-camp. For months fans, other players and his own teammates have wondered whether he would return or not. |

Good for him. He went out on top. And I'm glad we don't have to face him twice a year anymore.

My two best Strahan memories happened during his last game. During a pre-game team huddle he gave a little pep talk, "Everybody is talking about their dynasty. Well, OUR DYNASTY STARTS TONIGHT!!!!!" After New England went up 14-10, he was on the sidelines talking to the OLine, "The final score is going to be 17-14. Ya' hear me? SEVENTEEN FOURTEEN!"

Strahan was a great player. Hands down hall of famer and seemingly a pretty good guy.
We'll be seeing him on TV shortly.

Good call on his part.
He's got a ring and a Hall of Fame resume. No sense in riding it out any further. |

Re: Strahan Retires.................
He had a really good season last year and the giants won the SB. Couldn't think of a better way to call it quits.
Glad we don't have to deal with him anymore. That does leave a pretty big void at DE for the giants, who's next in line?

Good for him. I guess Fox made him a pretty decent offer.

Re: Strahan Retires.................
I think he changes his mind after training camp is just about over and comes back for another season and another 6 to 8 mill. If I'm corect he is still hurting a little for cash after his wife got most of his in their div. and he still has something left in his tank. He just does not want to spend the time in camp and playing those waist of time preseason games (thats is a waist of time for a vet D lineman). I've been wrong before.

Re: Strahan Retires.................
I'm sure we'll be seeing him on t.v. this year, possibly Fox because Fox handles all the NFC battles. Speaking of battles he used to have some epic ones back in the day with Jansen when Jansen was healthy. I'm glad we don't have to face him twice a year anymore too. He's easily a HOFer in my book and he'll just be solidifying that with his career in t.v. lol.
