Sean Salisbury predicts Redskins in playoffs, Gibbs, Portis win awards

I am listening to Dan Patrick on ESPN radio, they were talking about Tuna and the Cowgirls. Sean says that they will play better than last season but finish worse because of the division. Then he goes on to say the Redskins finish 2nd in the East and get the wildcard. He thinks Gibbs will be coach of the year and Portis wins the MVP with over 1700 yds this season. Other than 2nd in the East I agree with him. I think the Eagles are over rated and we can fight them for the East crown.

--------------------
My predictions:

* Redskins win East
* Portis an MVP candidate
* Taylor fights DeAngelo Hall for defensive rookie of the year
* Either Upshaw or Daniels make the probowl (I said it first!)
* Gibbs is Coach of the Year
* Brunell starts the 1st 3 games, Ramesy takes over because of an injury and finishes the season strong for us.

Considering that Daniels has been a pre-season no-show and Upshaw is Upshaw... I think that prediction is very unlikely.

I think Brunell will play well enough to keep the job this year, barring injury.

Yeah I think Brunell might make through the year. He said this is healthiest he's ever been. Plus, our o-line is going to be one the best. Here are my predictions.

Defense is going top 10 in the NFL

O-line will have a great year. Randy Thomas, Chris Samuels go to the Pro Bowl

Portis will rush for over 1500 yds.

Last but not least. Taylor will be rookie of the year.

Skins go 10-6. Gibbs coach of the year.

Taylor, hands down rookie of the year. Not even a close second for defense.

Gibbs, easily coach of the year.

Skins start the season very strong, 3-1 again. Then slow up a little as people try to game plan Gibbs, then we come back strong at the end to go 10-6.

Washington gets defensive player of the year, giving us both rookie of the year and defensive player of the year.

Lavar EARNS a spot to the pro bowl, as well as Samuels.

Randy Thomas becomes one of the most elite guards in the league because of his speed and ability to run the countertre to perfection

That's the most realistic projection I've seen. Most of it is VERY possible, but I do think the Marcus Washington prediction is unlikely. (Even though I am very impressed by him so far)

How about this: The Skins come in second and get the wildcard, then beat the Eagles in the NFC championship game! That would be SWWWEEEEETTTT!!!

Doing so at the Linc, and causing the city of Philly to implode from massive depression and then to sink into a stinking cesspool never to re-emerge - Oh wait, Philly already IS a stinking cesspool.

I'll add:

Coles and Gardner: 1,000 yards each

Marcus Washington and LaVar: 10+ sacks each

Chad Morton: Pro Bowl

2-0 vs Dullass!!!!!

More realistic predictions-

Brunell starts, Ramsey will replace for an injury sometime along the way, but Brunell back for playoffs.

Portis goes for 1500 yrds, though less YPC than at Denver.

Coles repeats his numbers, and so does Gardener as either Thrash or McCants establishes himself this year as a solid #3

Cooley becomes a receiving threat.

Samuels, Thomas, Portis- pro bowlers Coles- alternate again

Cornelius Griffin has a respectable, if not spectacular, year

Barrow leads team in tackles, Washington/Arrington combine for ~12 sacks

Smoot/Springs pull in many INTs, and out passing defense ranks in the top 5, rushing still in the middle of the league.

Defense overall is ranked around 10th

Taylor, Arrington, Smoot- Pro Bowl Washington, Springs- alternates

Taylor- DROY

Record- 10-6 Wildcard

This Rams game is merely a speed bump on the road to the Super Bowl!
