Re: C. Rogers Bad Hands

Quote:
Rogers: "It's not [about] our hands. I'm going to my man. So by the time I get there in order to get my man under control, I look back, 'Oh, the ball here.' It ain't like I'm running [and] looking at the quarterback, it's not like that. If I'm doing that, I should catch all of them."

Watching the ball and not the man?

What a novel concept.

Rogers possibly has the worst ball skills of any CB in the league. In last years Week 3 game vs. the NYG, if he reacted to the ball, not the man on the Plax TD, it would have been AT WORST a bat down, if not a pick. He's pretty much just a mirror that tries to reflect what the WR is doing with no regard for the football.

I still cringe at the playoff game in Seattle when Rogers dropped a sure INT and run back for a TD. Such an easy pass to catch also. Anyone else remember that from the 1st Joe Gibbs playoff visit to Seattle?

Yeah, and just think, at the time we all chalked that up to rookie jitters... If we only knew!

Re: C. Rogers Bad Hands

It sounds like he's making a lot of excuses. Every cornerback has these same problems, but they actually catch the ball.

At least everyone seems to have a sense of humor about it.

Rogers has never been shy about making excuses. I still remember when he got burned by Joey Galloway (who was I think 35 at the time) and he was like, man, you got me on an island with the fastest guy in the league man!! It ain't my fault!

Just like JC, its time for Rogers to step up- though I'll pleased with his progress coming off injury.

Humorous article - especially Smooty. I'm pretty sure Smoot dropped an easy INT in preseason so he can't run his mouth too far.

Of greater importance in the INT he dropped in the end zone against the Giants last week.

He drops some balls but that was not one of them. He turned a flung out his arm and hit the ball he was not in postion to make the int.

Re: C. Rogers Bad Hands

Rogers wouldn't be any worse off than he is now if you replaced his hands with shoe horns. His excuse is totally lame. "I'm looking at my man, not the QB..." Okaaaay, well you should have started working a little more on your ball skills before your stone hands problem became an epidemic. If he could catch he'd have a great chance at pro-bowl status.

Re: C. Rogers Bad Hands

Atleast Rogers can stick to his man. Screw the interceptions, if you can't cover they STFU(yes you Smoot).

Rogers definately has no hands, but is Smoot really in a good position to call him out?
