Greg Blache Appreciation Thread
I think the one thing that most of us can admit this year is that through the first part of the this season the most consistent part of this team has been the defense. From the loss to the Giants in Week 1 all the way to this week the defense has come to play. Just wait till the offense finds their rhythm (which to a certain extent they have but we need to get back to that point where we were having 20+ point games) then we'll see how many teams want to play us.
In the meantime show some love to our boy Greg Blache

Re: Greg Blache Appreciation Thread
Excellent thread!
The defense has brought it every single game. They've shut down runners and shut down passers. The defense has been everything we wish it to be. It is the most valuable unit on the team to this point. This leads me to think of London as an MVP. Blache has done a wonderful job. He has gotten the right people in the right places almost every single time, almost every single game. He is an outstanding defensive coordinator. Now we just need some luck to come our way in terms of turnovers. |

Re: Greg Blache Appreciation Thread
I've always been a big Blache fan, was actually hoping if one of our assistant head coaches were to be elevated to head coach it would be Greg not Gregg...still how many appreciation threads are we going to give this guy?

Re: Greg Blache Appreciation Thread
I was thinking about this during the game when Horton made yet another great play.
If we still had Williams and his reluctance to play rookies, we would probably still be stuck with Doughty or some other under performing SS. Blache has a keen eye for talent and is not afraid to give someone a chance. I also liked how he gave DE J. Taylor some successful reps at his natural RDE position resulting in a very critical batted ball on third down. On the next drive I saw Taylor motion to the sideline asking if he could play on the right side again but was told no. He seems to prefer the right side DE position. Back to Blache, he has done an incredible job. |

Re: Greg Blache Appreciation Thread
He has really done a great job and I hope we keep him around for years to come. I thought we might have seen a little drop off in the D with Williams leaving but we have gotten better this year.

Re: Greg Blache Appreciation Thread
Also the D has been the hardest hit with injuries yet still shines as the best unit. They are AWESOME!!!!

Re: Greg Blache Appreciation Thread
Definatly big props to Greg. However; a large part of our defense's sucess is from certain players finally stepping up. Carlos is playing how he was expected to play a few years ago, Fletch is playing lights out, great "freak" aquisition in Horton, and I could keep going. My point is, that when players step up and make big plays along with great defensive play calling - you've got yourself a team (on one side of the ball anyway)

Re: Greg Blache Appreciation Thread
I appreciate Blache's efforts so far. I would appreciate it more if we could force some turnovers and sack the QB. Never settle.

Re: Greg Blache Appreciation Thread
To stop a team from scoring on 7 out of 8 plays from the one, this defense deserves mad props. Greg Blache has done great taking over for Williams
