Good, somebody on offense needs to get fired up.

Re: Sources Confirm Portis-Sellers Incident
Ack.
Losing sucks. The thing this team needs more than anything else is a solid W. It's been a looong time since we've had one of those.

Boys will be boys...this kind of thing happens on a football team. It is not unusual, we just normally do not hear about it.
Although I do question Portis asking the coaches to replace a player and how that got back to Sellers. Either Portis was not respectful and discreet about his request, or someone whispered in Sellers' ear. Portis needs back down the ego a bit. |

I would also say though that Sellers nearly killed us with his dropped TD pass and his decision to change up his blocking assignment against the Lions definitely killed us. He has to step it up

Re: Sources Confirm Portis-Sellers Incident
If this team wants to start winning we can't be having all these distractions going on, like this, hiring sherman lewis, greg blache not wanting to talk to the media, players not coming together or being on the same page, firing zorn talk...we're just a circus of diaster right now.

Same thing that I'm thinking. They're supposed to be core Redskin guys. They're supposed to hold the team together during times like these; not fight each other! This sucks!

Re: Sources Confirm Portis-Sellers Incident
It's funny that Portis is mad about Sellers not getting a block. Yoder missed a block too. They both left points on the field.

Re: Sources Confirm Portis-Sellers Incident
I hate to say it, but if what's reported about CP requesting MS be replaced, it's another sign than CP is a team cancer, enabled by DS who has guaranteed him big $ even as his ability is in decline.
It's not the first time he's thrown teamates or coaches under the bus. Remember him talking about the o line last year & of course the "head coach is a genius" comments to J. Thompson. The Skins Insider reported not long ago that Portis wasn't in shape. A bit confusing since in preseason they reported that he was in camp & working harder than in year's past. In shape or not, his play on the field hasn't been exemplary to the point that he can point fingers at anyone. I agree w/Slingin Sammy' he's developed a bad habit of tripping himself. |

This is not what's needed right now. I appreciate what Portis has done for the franchise, but he's not worth $ 10M / yr. and I believe it's time for he and the Skins to part ways after the season.

Like I said, I hate to say it, cause I want the team to keep its core players till they retire. I would love to see CP become the 3rd down back & extend his career. But w/his drama & his lack of practicing + age, a rookie can easily outperform him running the ball. It looks certain a rb will be drafted next year, when is the question. They'll probably look at cutting Betts to make room. I really think his lack of practice is affecting CP's performance. Maybe he was too nicked to practice, but his ankle spurs can't be that bad, otherwise he wouldn't be jumping up & down at the end of the game. |

Re: Sources Confirm Portis-Sellers Incident
Sellers is pretty much a worthless player except for the little bit of blocking he does so when he has problems with that then he becomes a huge liability.

Re: Sources Confirm Portis-Sellers Incident
This team is hanging on by a very, very thin thread.
