Draft Strategy after the first round
Let's talk about what we think will happen for the Redskins after the first round. Who do you think the skins will go after or hope they go after? I feel that we will have to address the o-line in the draft. This cap punishment by the NFL has screwed us. We have had to change our strategy we may have to find a way to acquire more picks. What's your opinion?

Re: Draft Strategy after the first round
I'd like to give up our 3rd and 4th to move up into the 2nd to take a starting interior lineman.

Re: Draft Strategy after the first round
Watch out, you might kicked in the nuts by NC like I suggested the same in another post. Except that I would target a S as a bigger need instead of OL.

Re: Draft Strategy after the first round
I was thinking we should pull a trade like this but I think the cap penalty we have us to resort to picking up more quantity over quality.

Re: Draft Strategy after the first round
Could we swing a pre draft trade for an early second, use it as trade bait for a later round second and third? I really like the idea of accumulating picks still.

Re: Draft Strategy after the first round
We had 12 draft picks last year. We need quality starters, not more backups.

Re: Draft Strategy after the first round
Those 12 picks were all rookies. Some guys turn into starters over time. 5 were starter worthy last year and more could turn out to be starters.

Re: Draft Strategy after the first round
I seriously doubt that the cap penalty would change the dynamic of taking 1 2nd round player vs 2 or 3 lower round players. The difference in combined cap hits would be minimal.

Re: Draft Strategy after the first round
Why is RB a need?
Secondary definitely needs some help. |

Re: Draft Strategy after the first round
Hightower is not signed, is returning from major injury and there are many very good RB's.

2-Royster 3-Tristan Davis I don't know why we'd need one, but we can always get one late in the draft or pick up an UDFA. I see RT as a must to protect both ends, then start working on the interior. |

Obviously Shanahan might not be looking for the next Roy Helu exactly but those two seem like candidates. Other mid-round guys to look out for due to above average vision and one-cut run ability: Chris Rainey - Florida Ronnie Hillman - San Diego State Lennon Creer - Louisiana Tech And the highest rated vision among potential Shanahan Backs Tauren Poole - Tennessee Quote:
Jonas Gray - Notre Dame Jeff Demps - Florida Jewel Hampton - Southern Illinois Bryce Brown - Kansas State In short anyone from Florida should make us happy as should a certain back from Tennessee.
