Hard to say - depends on our draft. Based on our roster, I'd say TE has a chance. Not that I dislike Royal, but he isn't the blocker that we used during the reign of Gibbs I.

cb or wr are the more obvious two. Dont expect either to be a week one starter though. Everyone has to earn their spots with Gibbs and Williams

TE and CB are pretty much certain. That's about it.

Speaking of TE, anyone know of any later round picks that might be a good fit with the team?

Re: Rookie starters '05
WR and that's all.
The guy from BC, I think his name is Dave Kravetta, although I'm definitely not sure that is right, would be a nice pick. He is a very nasty in-line blocker. There are no TEs that fit our mold well in the earlier rounds though, and that is why no TE will be starting for us. Also, I don't believe we will be starting a rookie CB next year either. The only possible starters are in the first and second rounds, and as I think WR is our number one pick, we won't be starting a rookie. Either Smoot or Walt Harris will start across from Springs next year, IMO. |

I looked up some things about Curtis. I like him as a blocking TE. I think that might be a good later round selection.

Anthony Curtis could be a good steal. I would still feel good about Dave Kashetta (thats his name) or even Tony Jackson from Iowa. Those guys could be diesel blockers in the 6th or 7th.

Re: Rookie starters '05
i don't know what the big deal about tight ends is. chris cooley did fine last year in gibbs's system, and i don't see why we need to draft a better guy. we need to focus on middle linebackers, cornerbacks, and possible wideouts.

Cooley is our H-Back.
We aren't replacing him. |

ummmmmmm cooley isnt a tight end, lol, i think this is the third time you said this. he is a h-back. the TE we are talking about is royal (who lines up on the line of scrimmage)

Re: Rookie starters '05
I think that what happens with Smoot and Gardner will help determine what we do in the draft. Gibbs had a great draft last year and I'm sure he is looking to target some specific guys to fill needs.
Look for him to get a late round pick for Gardner and then trade two picks to move up and take a specific guy. Could be a TE or corner. Look for the late round project picks to go to Greg Williams this year. Good chance to see a new blocking TE. Even a first rond WR won't be starting until he proves himself (see Desmond Howard...).
