moss trade

one thing thats got me a little confused is the fact we didnt work out a new deal with moss before we made the deal. usually thats an absolute must for a deal because thats when the front office has the most leverage. the guy wants out and will take a little less to do so. now moss has the leverage he can hold out for the big bucks and possibly hit the free agent market next year giving us nothing in return for coles and this ridiculous cap hit were taking. i usually try to keep the faith in the front office they are alot more experienced than i am. but ive gotta admit some of there recent actions have got me a little concerned

Re: moss trade

The deal isn't even official yet, a new deal will likely be on the way very soon.

The trade comes with a huge price tag for the Redskins, who have to pay Coles the final $5 million of a $13 million signing bonus. Coles will count $9.3 million against Washington's salary cap this season, virtually eliminating any major acquisitions for the rest of free agency.

Moss is entering the final year of his contract, and the Redskins will begin talks to sign him to a new deal once the trade is completed.
