Cooley - Redskins or no one
Cooley - Redskins or no one
LANDOVER HILLS, Md. (WUSA) -- Chris Cooley is no longer officially a member of the Washington Redskins organization but it didn't stop him from representing the team at Glenridge Elementary School Tuesday morning. "I'll always be a part of the Redskins, I'm not part of the current roster right now but I'm part of this community because they embraced me so much as a player," says Cooley. For Vet Minimum? I'd say "Welcome back!" |

I hope that he has a solid post-football plan.

Re: Cooley - Redskins or no one
I love Cooley, but his time is done. Could see him as a color commentary guy on the field with players.
Sad to say that 30yrs is too old, but it is what it is. |

Re: Cooley - Redskins or no one
If he'd come back for 1 year vet min... why not? He's got to be better than Niles was, and I'm sure he has some knowledge to share.

Re: Cooley - Redskins or no one
900K+ would be the vet min for Cooley. We can't afford it, nor can we spare the roster spot for a sentimental piece.

It wasn't the age, it was the injuries.

Re: Cooley - Redskins or no one
Yeah, he's definitely more trustworthy than Paul, but with Paul's age and "potential", I think he'll get the nod, especially for his solid special teams play.
I'd love to see Cooley back but with Davis returning and Paulsen's emergence as a reliable, or at least serviceable starter last year, there's no room for him unless he wants to watch from the sideline. One of my favorite Skins ever...I hope he retires as a Redskin. He had a great career here.

Re: Cooley - Redskins or no one
He can't run anymore. He should retire and stay retired.

Re: Cooley - Redskins or no one
Love Cooley. Hope he can make some type of home within the organization....
But I'm pretty sure his football days are done. Really wish he could have gotten one more TD last year.
