The New Redskins
I saw an article this morning about Pierre Garçon buying a minivan for the family of Juwaan Espinal, the high schooler with cerebral palsy that RGIII surprised during training camp along with a prom proposal from one of Juwaan's classmates. And with all the ugliness in the NFL with domestic violence, drugs, etc., I started to think about this team and the guys I hope are part of it for a long time - because they're good players and character guys. For me, Garçon is high on that list. Good guy, works hard, and brings his best every week. The Redskins used to be full of players like that during the glory years of the 1980s, and I think we are starting to see some of that again - Alfmo, Garçon, and Kerrigan come to mind (I would also put RGIII on the list, although I know that some folks think he's too self-centered and we would probably all agree we want to see more consistent production on the field; I think he's a genuinely good person and works hard, and I believe in the guy). I also like what I am seeing from Andre Roberts so far too.
In any event, curious to know who folks think of as the core of the team, and who you'd like to remain a Redskin for years to come.
