The all things Dan Snyder thread
The Book of Daniel «
Great read on our redskins and Dan snyder, I know the dude wants to win and I'm sure he's trying hard but this guy has no luck and he has made a once top 10 franchise into a pure joke, I hope it ends soon but Dan isn't going anywhere so I'm sure we will be in misery for longer.

Re: The all things Dan Snyder thread
Not trying to offer up a defense but our franchise was a joke before he got here, he's just continued that "legacy." I think our only hope is that with age comes wisdom, hopefully he will wise up and eventually hire smart football guys (who he won't mind butting heads with) vs. yes men that he's friends with.

Re: The all things Dan Snyder thread
FFS, maybe using the term joke was harsh but the post SB years of '91 were nowhere near expectations. And when Snyder bought the team they hadn't done anything of note since '91. If you want to call that "professionally run" go ahead, but the point is we hadn't done shit for several years before he arrived and all he's done since then is continue that.

If anything, after this disastrous year let's hope he has learned something for once and for all. When ticket sales hit the wallet he takes notice.

Wouldn't that classify you as insane?

Nah, Steinbrenner won. Snyder never won anything. I've never seen so much ego without pride. At some point you'd think since his name is on everything he'd wake up and smell the dumpster fire.

Nothing good can come of this thread - which is fine by me.

Re: The all things Dan Snyder thread
How were we a joke before he came? Yeah for a few years before we were but this franchise used to be regarded as a top tier team with 3 super bowls and 5 appearances. Now we look like the browns, a team that has no future.

Re: The all things Dan Snyder thread
Yeah, we were hot garbage for most of the 90's, but turning it around at the end. Snyder's first year looking from the outside he didn't seem to meddle enough to change things, we made the playoffs, went into the draft with 3 first round picks (turned into 2 picks). Then Snyder went on his fantasy football kick, let regular guys go, and it all went to hell in a handbasket from there.

Re: The all things Dan Snyder thread
I'm referring to the period between '91 and '99. Yeah we made the playoffs the first year he owned the team but I'm definitely not going to give him the credit for that. It's not that hard to figure out, why would I call our 14-2 Super Bowl winning team a joke? That doesn't make sense. 8 consecutive years of futility after that is definitely not something to be proud of though.
