36 Greatest Moments MNF

If anyone watched Monday Night Football last night they were advertising a show that will air this Sunday at 2:30. It is going to be the 36 greatest moments of Monday Night Football and our own Joe Thiesman will be one of the 36. Can anyone guess how he made the list? On clue, it still hurt to watch last night when they ran the preview for the show.

I wonder if they will have Eddie Brown's infamous kickoff return late in the game to win it? [I believe it was against the cardinal's but not sure]

With all the great plays and great games it would be hard to narrow it down to just 36.

It's "Greatest Moments", right?

I hope they have that awkward silence that followed the first time Eric Dickerson referred to himself in the third person as a sideline reporter. That was quality TV.

One of the best MNF games Ken Houston stops Cryboys Walt Garrison at the goal line...........

I could watch that highlight over and over again. It's just awesome.

Other great Redskins Monday night moments have to include Art Monk breaking the record against the Broncos and, even though they lost, that 48-47 loss to the Packers in 1983

Re: 36 Greatest Moments MNF

A top monent was back in the early/mid-70s was in an Oakland Raiders/Houston Oilers game. The Oilers stunk and the Raiders were winning about 35-0 with about 8 minutes to go in the game. The Astrodome had already just about empited out.

During a stoppage in the action, ABC cameras panned to a secion of seats in the upper deck with only one guy in it. The camera panned in on this guy slumped down in his seat with his feel over the back of the seat in front of him. Once in close, the guy realized he was on camera and flipped the bird to the nation.

Dandy Don Meredith never missed a beat. He immediately said, "Yes sir, he wants us all to know that the Oilers are #1 in the nation."

If that isn't a highlight, then ignore the list!

SC, do you remember 1 monday night game with dandy don, [late 70's or early 80's] the game was stopped for a moment [don't remember why] so the camera crew were showing different people in the stands, and they locked in on a very hot blonde, and she kind of had one of those distant stare's, so they really focused in on her, the monday night crew started to comment on her when all of a sudden she starts picking her nose, and I mean she was really digging for gold, and they all started laughing, and Dandy Don say's "well she picked her chance" it was histerical, probably the funniest thing I can remember on monday night, the only thing that came close was Cosell and Garrett.

Re: 36 Greatest Moments MNF

After moving to Tx when I was in the 5th grade I really looked forward to MNf and seeing cosell do the highlights at halftime, that was the only time I got to see any highlights of my skins,no sportscenter then.I loved Cosell and i think he got a bad rap for the monkey thing,he said the same thing about a white rb in a game before the skins game,it was just a term he used. Also, wasnt that on MNF when somebody was kicking a fg or extra point and a guy jumped out of the stands about 30 feet up and caught the ball, that was great, the guy made David Letterman.

Re: 36 Greatest Moments MNF

MNF isn't the same as it used to be. I used to be hyped to watch it but I'm only really into it when the skins or good match ups are on the card. It's weird it doesn't have the feel of the good ol days.
