Walt Harris

I'm sure he tries hard and everything but it seems that he gets shitted on a lot... at least 2 touchdowns were on people he was covering who were not exactly A class recievers and I still don't think his tackling is all that great.
plus he was the one offsides on the field goal wasn't he?

Re: Walt Harris

For weeks I have grown more and more frustrated over Walt Harris play (or lack thereof) - unfortunately, we are not blessed with a depth of quality CBs so we will have to ride it out (hopely Carlos can get "it" soon), CB is definitely an area we should be looking at in the forthcoming draft/FA along with pass rushing DEs.

Re: Walt Harris

The loss of Fred Smoot is now making its impact felt. I have watched Harris play WR's 10yds away and miss the tackle and the INT. This has happened against the Eagles and the Bucs. Now Greg Williams has to get Carlos Rodgers ready to start and play the ball moreso than anything else.

Why call this thread GW and JG? They did their part in rallying the troops after half time. One troop named Harris has a serious problem playing man to man which means he has to replaced. But let's not forget the loss of Sean Taylor this week was definitely felt with the poor play of Pierson Priouleau. Greg Williams should have never brought him here.

Re: Walt Harris

I think Harris is playing hurt and it's hurting the team. Never mind letting Smoot go, we should have never let Garnell Wilds go. He could have given us some nice depth at the secondary position. And if I remember right, he did a pretty decent job at the end of last season

Re: Walt Harris

At least some of the problems with our defense relate to who IS NOT on our team. We can't seem to get any pass rush out of our front four. Without a pass rush from the front four, we bring LBs and CBs - thereby hurting our ability to cover. Perhaps our defense is just getting exposed for what it is: a talented back seven and a poor front four.

Re: Walt Harris

Carlos Rogers got torched by Sheperd too, the only difference may be that Rogers may be a more solid tackler, but that's because he plays pretty far off from I've seen. Harris tackled better today, not much better, but a little. He did bring down Alstott one-on-one, but that's just one play. The D backs were terrible and that killed us.

Re: Walt Harris

I was hoping Walt Harris improved but he's done nothing but let the reciever go in front of him. One touchdown he just stood there and watched a guy catch it. I really think it's time for him to go.

Re: Walt Harris

Walt Harris is playing awful hurt or not. Rogers should be starting, at least it will get him ready for the future. I don't think Smoot leaving is hurting us that much. It hurts the depth, but he is getting rocked in Minnesota and he is only playing number 2 like he would be here. This season is in the shitter....we can't cover Tampa's 1,3 and 4 WR's and had a hard time against Philly's 2,3,4's what the hell are they going to do against Moss and Porter or even Bruce and Holt. Taylor coming back will help at least.

That's a brilliant point. Those games, against those receivers could decide the fate of this season.

Judging from what we've seen, Moss, Porter, Bruce and Holt will eat this team alive.
