Re: Worst Website of the Year - According to the Post
Good question 12th man. I dont know about WORST website. Theres still a ton of awsome info on there, that even you can't find on a great website like this. As for message board specifically, I find it hard to disagree. Its just way to unorganized for me, even though i'll throw up a post on there from time to time.
I didnt read the entire article though. If you look at the entire website (which I dont think most people do), then I disagree. If you look at specifically the message boards, I could see where they are coming from.

I think I've tried to post there like once or twice and gave up. Plus, I wasn't really drawn into any of the discussions there. That doesn't really make any worse or better than WarPath though.
I don't doubt that the guys at extreme are no less passionate than we are, I just feel like it's more like family here. |

A lot of guys on extremeskins don't understand the concept of civility. I for one dislike that site!

Re: Worst Website of the Year - According to the Post
Shapiro is a tool and his shot at extremeskins is a valied shot at sites like this too. His "no accountability venom" comment I would imagine refers to fans who crticize the skins from behind a keyboard where they aren't held accountable. But all that comment does is reveal how out of touch he is. First off where else can fans discuss a team like this. Second areb't we allowed to disagree with moves the teams makes and get upset when they play badly. Thirdly I think online communities have different a different culture when it comes to accountability. We all challeneg each other when we disagree. What is his definition of accountability? Some guy beats your ass in a bar when you say something bad about Lavar or Brunell? What a tool Shapiro is.

Re: Worst Website of the Year - According to the Post
i go to extremeskins occasionally. They do have some things there that you can't do at other websites, i.e. the player chats, but to me, that place is like a mall. This place is like family, i know each member, etc. Over there there are so many random posters it's hard to remember one person's name. I've heard that some regulars over there are unhappy with it as well, because there are a lot of bandwagon fans and new members showing up, and they say it's not like it used to be over there. I love this place like i love my own family.

I agree with you here, because I leisurely visit over there and I'm not convinced there's actually a lot of true Redskin fans who are regulars there. Plus the sight is like surfin the net. |

Re: Worst Website of the Year - According to the Post
I actually think the "no accountablity" comment is taking a stab at the highest authority on the redskins..Dan Snyder...as we all know the Post hates the Redskins..and they always blame all of our failures on the owner, and the fact that he is ruthless...and nobody holds an NFL Owner accountable.
I wouldn't read much into his comment other than that its obvious they are still bitter. Lets relish in the fact that they will have to continue to report on the Redskins into February this year!!!!!!! |
