Rome kind of grew on me after his fight with Jim "Don't Call Me Chris" Everette. He kept calling him Chris until Jim said "if you call me Chris one more time, I'm going to jump over this table and hit you." Rome just looked at him and said, "Chris." And they fought.

Seriously misleading thread. I thought it said that Chris Cooley was on the Jim Rome show, not I hate the Jim Rome show. Does anyone have a breakdown of what Cooley said? Id be interested to find out more about the interview.

He's a guy who you hear at first and think wow this guy is a jerk. An interesting jerk but a jerk. Then you grow to love his schtick a little until one day it hits you that he is simply a giant turd sandwhich. Guys a jerk simply for the sake of being a jerk. Best part is that he talks straight out of his ass. Do people actually care what he says? At least this is the evolution of my opinion of the guy.

Obviously he's doing something right.

The clones are annoying, but for the most part I like Rome.

Well, he is doing something that apparently a large number of people like, which we can classify as "doing something right", I suppose. I, for one, can't figure out what that is.

You have to listen to the show for awhile before it grows on you. I do prefer to listen to Dan Patrick when i can, but i still like the Rome show. He does some of the best interviews around. As Rome sometimes sais, his wife didn't like the show at first, then he listened to the show and he didn't even like it.

As he says himself, the show isn't for everyone and it takes a while to grow on you. I thought he was a prick when I first started listening to him. He still is a prick, but I guess that's what I've grown to like.
