Kerry Collins to be released

Kerry Collins is to be released by the Giants. Anyone have an idea where he might go?? I was thinking maybe Miami, Arizona, San Fransico or even Dallas for a few years.

He's still a starting quality QB, he won't go without a team for long.

I guess they are just going to throw Eli right on the field. Say hello to Mr. Taylor, Eli!!! Kerry is a decent QB, hes not what he used to be, and that wasnt even that great. He throws a lot of picks. He had a bad year last year becuase he had no oline, I dont know where he could start this year, most teams already have their QB penciled in.

Eli will have fun behind that line. Ha.

I'm actually pretty suprised this move. I would have thought they would have kept him on for this year atleast.

I hope like hell Collins doesn't go to Dallas. Not that he's a world beater, but he'd definitely have to be considered an upgrade to Carter.

Giants with a rookie QB behind that horrible OL? LOL good luck Eli! You should check out some Patrick Ramsey game tapes from last year to see a preview of your rookie season!

I just think that to start Eli for the full season most likely throws away this season for them. You look historicaly at rookie Qbs stats and I dont think the rest of the Giants are strong enough to win games with their QB throwing more INTs than TDs. Heck he'll be lucky if his INTs dont outnumber his TDs by 3 to 2.

Not only does it throw away the season, but they won't even reap the rewards of the first round pick next year. I wish Ernie Accorsi ran all the teams in the division (except ours).

This sounds like a bad decision for the Giants, but good news for the Redskins. Why would they release their veteran QB, and without any compensation?

For the same reason they gave up so much to get the 'Manning' of the bunch.

The big problem with Collins is his cap # is something like $7M for this year.

They don't need him anymore. Eli is gonna be a pain in the ass to deal with for the next 10 years. Lucky for us we'll have the best quaterback in the division soon.

All good choices. Don't really know about Miami though with Feeley and Fiedler there. San Diego might have been an option if they didn't keep Flutie.

San Diego is going to start Rivers, Marty needs to have a rookie QB so he has excuses that allow him to keep his job. Arizona is a possability if they are looking for a vet to step in with all those receivers they have, but Dennis Green really wants to start his guy. Mabye Tampa?? They were talking about getting rid of johnson but they decided not to. I dont know if that would really be an upgrade for them. Collins is young in Raiders terms, mabye they want him to.
