Just a quick question, do you guys notice we're getting some defectors? It seems like we're having a lot of people I don't recognize around here more recently.

On a side note, welcome mcalderone10.

Re: Sean salisbury makes a bold statement make him remember it

As to the original title of the thread - I heard the end of an interview with Salisbury on Mike and Mike and M&M had apparently brought up Salisbury's statement because they were talking about how long it would take to make the walk. The bottom line was that Salisbury said he would now make the walk IF THE SKINS WIN THE SUPERBOWL.

Strangely enough Salisbury didn't see this as reneging on his original statement. After one the hosts made some softball remark like "So you really are going to take this walk if the Skins win the Superbowl?", Salisbury said "Definitely, I AM A MAN OF MY WORD".

What BS! If he was a man of his word - HE WOULD BE WALKING ALREADY.

I never thought much of him as an analyst. He is the classic talking head jerk who watches a film clip or two and then repeats what other "experts" are saying. But now I simply don't have any respect for him. His prediction on the 'Skins was just warmed over BS that he thought would be a safe bet. It demonstrated that, as an "analyst/commentator", he'll just talk out his ass and make whatever stupid prediction he wants with absolutely no accountability.

Why should any football fan give any credence to anything he says?

I was also pissed that M&M didn't call him on his BS. They cozied up and let him off the hook.

Didn't mean to rant but I just get so tired of these journalist/analyst/commentators holding themselves out as knowledgeable when, in fact, they aren't nearly as informed as the locals AND failing to 'fess up when the screw up.

Hell, Salisbury is such a wimp - If Taylor had spit on him, Salisbury would have probably apologized for getting in the way of ST's loogie.

ST wouldn't spit on him. Too far of a shot to the bench.

Gotta remeber though that Salisbury's 12 career starts make him an undeniable "expert". This guy is an idiot just like you said. Doesn't have an original thought in his head and has no actual analytical abilities or doesn't have the motivation to do the analysis for real. At least guys like Jaws show they actually sit down and look at tape and can explain what is going and why. I only respect a couple analysts. The community here is generally better on analysis than just about every talking head out there.

I agree, the analysis here is hands down better than anything on any of the media outlets.

On a side note of my own: BSB, I never got the big welcome either!!

Re: Sean salisbury makes a bold statement make him remember it

It is funny as hell when they all start taking up for each other and put down a fan and their opinions and justify it by saying this is what all the experts are saying. Collin Cowherd and Salsbury are famous for that mess. So whenever you step off the field Woodson, Salsbury, Sehorn, Tim Brown, Lincoln Kennedy, you become an expert and know why a team is going to win and why. Why don't they just hire the ball boy who has been on the sidelines for years. Those who are most knowledable are Jaws and Clayton and are very fair in many of their predictions. All the others read each others hoopla and call it their own expert opinion from hours of study. I may not be an expert, but I know my Skins and they are playing great and by no means be a 9 point underdog and Seattle being a guarantee.

Isn't it interesting, when he makes reference to his career as a player, it comes across more like.............he was a perennial, accomplished, starter,. Besides all the other previously stated, dude is DAMNED ANNOYING

Re: Sean Salisbury makes a bold statement make him remember it

Just curious here about all the hate shown to analysts like Sean Salisbury:

Why is it OK for "Doc" Walker to go down on the entire Skins coaching staff on a weekly basis and to swap spit - not loogies - with every starter on both the offensive and defensive units? That's what he does and his comments here are taken as gospel truth more times than not. And let's be really polite and not point out just how off target "Doc's" predictions can be and have been...

If you disagree with Salisbury, then disagree with him and offer counter-arguments. But to hate him because he doesn't think the Skins are the best team in the NFL - - News Flash: They aren't at the moment! - - is sort of silly.
