Will Arrington take a pay cut? (MERGED)
Will Arrington take a pay cut and stay with this team, or fly to another team to get more cash?
As a fan would ya like to see him back next season? Is it almost certain that he's actually gone in the next few months? As you can tell I'd like to keep him around another year, but unless he takes a pay cut gonna be virtually impossible. and then I'll miss #56.

He said he wouldn't take a pay cut. he said he wouldn't even restructure.

Re: Will Arrington take a pay cut?
Well let's get rid of him then. Don't say ya wanna stay on the team, when you've been overpaid, WAY OVERPAID since you've been here. Really thought he'd be here for life, but then again I really thought he'd accomplished more in 5 years. Sounds like Smoot talk. I wanna stay on the Redskins forever, blah, blah, but I'll take a few more million and a purple sex boat, sure. Do we promote from within or take another chance on Michael Barrow?
ahhahahhahahhahahhaahhahahaha.

Re: Will Arrington take a pay cut?
Trade him for Randy Moss. Could it happen?? I'd even take joey porter. **** i don't even know that would happen. If we were gonna bench him this year we should have traded him earlier.
we need to find a team that needs a great Defenender and has a great offense. Who??? Who??? Raiders come to mind. KC even seattle, those Ds took huge strides this year same with the colts. ST. louis??? THe cards have a moderatly good defense but arrington could help. THey have amazing WRs and i would give them everything for one of them. Green bay? Re: Will Arrington take a pay cut?
It be a huge cap eat if we dumped him guys. I know we did it once but hopefully we learned to keep relationships better so we wouldn't have to again. If the main reason they want to rid themselves is his playing abilities then he probably stays because he is better than taking a huge cap hit AND signing someone else in his spot. If he is disgruntled ala Coles then they'll get rid of him I would think.

Re: Will Arrington take a pay cut?
if he is gone possible dream trade scenario for me would be this: how about an almost even cap swap of Tony Gonzalez for Lavar? that would provide them with a defensive playmaker they need and would provide us with a proven viable compliment too Moss and Cooley. I know it ain't gonna happen but I think a whole lot of people said the same thing about the possibility of a Bailey for Portis deal a couple years ago.

I don't know what would be the cap hit for Lavar but if he doesn't restructure his contract I see him getting cut no team will make a trade if they know they're going to cut him or you will get an average player for taht trade |

Gibbs had a shot at Moss when the vikes offered him up and he turned it down immediately without regrets or second thoughts. R Moss plays half-assed and Gibbs won't bother. They also passed up P Price, and you have to believe that williams gave them a reason to say no thanks. TO is more likely than either of those two (cause he helps other WRs and plays hard), but you know he also has zero chance of coming here, but thats much more likely than the others. |

Re: Will Arrington take a pay cut?
Funny, I was thinking of Lavar in a Raiders uniform this morning. Not sure R. Moss would be happy being the #2 reveiver though...
Hell, imagine if we got him and picked up Santana's brother? There's a gent's clothing company in the UK called Moss Bros. Has a kind of ring to it, dont you think? It would confuse the hell out of the announcers and stats men anyway! |

Re: Will Arrington take a pay cut?
Havn't you people read the papers, he and Danny have met about making adjustments to his contract to get it around 6 to 7 million next year in order for him to stay on the Redskins. He has met w/ Gibbs and Williams and both have acknowledged that they would like to have LaVar back. We will see what happens, but I wouldn't say he is gone yet, about 50-50 right now.
