Givens size and production in an offense that is a collaboration of very good players, is impressive. I would venture to say that he is probably the best Receiver the Patriots have. I think he will be very productive opposite Moss. If you add Patten to the mix I think all three would thrive the way the “POSSE” did in the 80’s.

Curtis had the most production out of these WR’s . He also played in a system that was full of options for him to pull down 60 receptions when he plays opposite Holt & Bruce is a feat in itself. He too has the ability to stretch the field as well as playing a possession role. He could see some action in the return game as well.

Robinson could be the best of this bunch if it wasn’t for the possible baggage. From all accounts in Minnesota he was a great teammate and seamed to get his life back on track. He has the best combination of size and speed of this bunch, and probably the most upside. Oh and did I mention he is going to the Pro bowl as a returner.

I love this guy. He plays with so much heart. He would make a great possession receiver, which is what we really need. The only reason why he is 5th on this list is his age. At 31 years old he might actually cost to much to pry him away from Seattle. He had a monster year in the RedZone and could play a similar role for us.

I would not be dissapointed with any of these WR's. And it would be great to get two of them, although the salary cap could prevent that. It might be possible to sign a combination of Robinson and one of the other WR's. maybe...

good assessment, I agree. Hopefully R-el's hype hasn't driven his price up to insane levels, but if he comes here he may be the 3rd WR instead of the 2nd... he did much better in that role in pit. i'd rate curtis 1/2 in talent, but down him because he'd cost our 3rd, which i'd rather keep if possible.

I didn't think JJ would want to leave seattle, but seeing that he's only 31 and could play for 4 more years, maybe he'd consider moving. I doubt seattle is going to let him go very easily though since he's not going to command #1 money.

You would think Randle El would have the Redskins at the top of his teams he would want to play for, if the pay is relatively even. He has not been able to reach his potential playing in Pittsburgh - he seems to be very underutilized. Chicago is his hometown, but I think he will go where he demonstrate his skills to the utmost, and that is here.

good list. i'm not sure who'd i'd like to see in DC. randle el i don't think is the answer though i wouldn't complain. i'd like to see givens or JJ in DC i think.

Nice list. A couple of flaws I see with your plan:

1. W/O a CBA we're not going to be able to sign anyone without cutting loose a few big names. Who would you propose to release? Don't include folks like Arrington or Ramsey, since it's almost a foregone conclusion they will not be part of the team in '06.

2. As far as signing Robinson and someone else, given his history of being a problem player, would he be #3 on the depth chart? If so, what benefit is it to sign him for a couple $MM other than punt returns?

3. Jurevicius would be good but I seriously don't see him going anywhere outside of Seattle. He was ready to retire at the end of '04 and I believe he lives in the NW which is why Seattle was able to coax him into 1 more year.

4. Randle El would certainly be the biggest impact player on the list, but he might be overkill in terms of filling our needs. Needless to say, after a good year, Super Bowl app, etc. he won't be a bargain basement FA. Don't see this happening because he will be able to command a high market value because of his versatility.

5. With all said, I think David Givens or Koren Robinson as a single signing would be the best move we could make. Givens gives us a solid complement to Moss as a #2 with Patton going to the #3. Robinson I don't know as much about regarding his receiving skills but he at least would give us a solid #3 with Patton in the #2 slot, plus he would add the dimension of being a punt returner.

agree with you that first choices would be robinson or givens.. would also like to get boerigter who has fine size and knows the offense

From what I have heard from people that understand the cap process, it is not going to be that hard to get under the cap without having to cut a bunch of people. Restructuring some key players, who I think will be more than willing to help us get back to the SB. Robinson will come to Washington cheap. Givens will cost us, how much I don't know, but probably do able. I also think a CBA will be signed.

R-el is a good #3 and okay #2, he's not getting #1 money. he was more productive in the slot.

I agree that we need a guy who's big and can just CATCH the ball. I will disagree that it's not possible to be successful with two smaller, fast guys. Cooley is our possession receiver if you see him that way.

good point about Cooley but you need someone who lines up in the outside if not you become 1 dimmensional tell me 1 team that's been successful (in todays NFL don't quote redskins teams of the last gibbs era) with 2 smaller, fast guys?
