2006 Predictions

I see 13-3. I think we split Dallas, Giants, and a loss to the Colts. Colts is just a wildcard loss.

Re: 2006 Predictions

Split Dallas? We didn't last year and we've improved, while they've put a ticking time bomb in their locker room.

I can buy 13-3 but I don't think we'll split Dallas. Giants, yes.

It'll be interesting to see how the Colts do without the Edge.

Trust me, I would like to think that we sweep Dallas again, I just don't see them putting up with getting beat at home... twice in a row.

Two arguements:
- Pro: Week two game, both teams healthy, but our team "should be" working better together.
- Con: They aren't going to take another beat-down at home from us, if anything, this will be the one game they play the hardest.

Well, during that streak they certainly did it to us. Why can't the Skins return the favor?

Actually, I hear what you're saying. You've got to know that they've circled that September 17th date and are treating it like a Super Bowl. But if we can somehow muster the same emotion and furious efficiency that allowed us to dominate and whip them in the second game at Fed Ex Field last year, no team can beat us. But if the Cowboys have that same type of emotion built up, and the Skins are in a half-ass kind of mood, then watch out.

They will likely look at this as a do or die game in week 2. They will (likely) be 0-1 to our 1-0.

12-4. The losses are to Dallas in week 2, Phili in week 10, Tampa in Week 11, and the Giants in Week 17, assuming a meaningless game.

Good call... however, it could be the difference between home field and a bye. If those variables are in there, we fight hard.

Naw... last regular season game, at home. We take the win. They are coming off of Cowboys, Panthers, Eagles then Saints (nothing). They will be tired... we couldn't give them the game.

Re: 2006 Predictions

Just did the ESPN Sportsnation poll for the Redskins season. Turns out I think the Skins are going 12-4

Re: 2006 Predictions

10-6.
Lots of "can go either way" games are in that schedule. We really have proven nothing, especially the last 2 games of the season, when it mattered most, I feel we came up short. We had no offense in the playoffs and that has GOT to change. Good moves have been made but we have a long way to go!!
I am conservatively optimistic.

Re: 2006 Predictions

I honestly and truly could see the Skins going undefeated. All the pieces are in place and if Brunell plays his game all year, I could definitely see it.

I know that's a bold prediction, but I could easily see it. Of course "Any Given Sunday" applies here, but the Skins most definitely have the talent to do it.

The problem I see with this is not that we couldn't start 13-0 or 14-0, but once we get to that point, we would start resting our starters and protecting them from injury.

This is what I view as the biggest roadblock

Re: 2006 Predictions

The only thing the Colts had over us was an elite QB. We have a GREAT QB. I told you, it's a bold prediction and I said I could SEE the Skins going undefeated.

If I'm going with my brain over my heart, I'm seriously going to say 14-2.
