Motorcycles Riders?
Any riders in here? I'm looking at this gourges baby (Kawasaki Ninja 650R) right now and man do I want that sucker. It's Redskins colors in it too. With gas prices what they are it seems like the perfect time to splash on a bike.

Re: Motorcycles Riders?
Seriously though, I dont know about riding a bike up in seattle. Bikes and rain are a bad bad idea. but on the other hand, that bike is sexy. You might be able to hook up some play with that thing.

Re: Motorcycles Riders?
Best thing about crotch rockets is the way girls look on the back. The shame is, when you're driving one you can't see!

Re: Motorcycles Riders?
Saden,
Not a big board poster, but I've been a long time lurker and longer time skin's fan. I've been riding for 10 years or so and do about 10k a year on my current bike ('05 DL1000 V-strom). I even tailgated FedEx on my bike twice during the preseason last year. (Makes getting out of the lot a much easier experience) That new 650R is a real nice ride, my buddy trading in his CBR F4i for one. In all seriousness, it's not a "learner" bike though. If you are a noob to motorcycling, do yourself a favor 1) Take your local state sponsored BRC (Beginner Riders Course) 2) Buy a good helmet and "real" gear. It ain't cool or cheap but it's cooler and cheaper than skin grafts or funeral expenses. 3) Buy the cheapest P.O.S. 250-400cc bike you can find and ride it for at least 6 months before you consider a new bike. You will drop it early and often...better that than a new bike with lots of expensive plastic. 4) Buy a new ride and paint it burgundy and gold with the license plate SB XLI! Later, Mc2guy |

Re: Motorcycles Riders?
also, try sitting on a few of the crotch rockets, IMO they are very uncomfortable, that was my main reason for buying a cruiser. The learnig course mentioned above is quite helpful and it only takes up about a weekend. Its also alot easier than the motorcycle driving test at the DMV.

Re: Motorcycles Riders?
I don't have a lot of ridding experience but I did take the motorcycle safety course couple of years ago. I have been really hesitant about getting a bike but now that I have paid my car of it's time to spend my hard earned dollars on a new "toy."
jamf, You wouldn't believe how big of a motorcycle time Seattle is. Rain or shine, rdiers are on the road and in the summer all sorts of riders come out of the woodwork.

Re: Motorcycles Riders?
When you get a new bike, check out the Hayabusa. One of the fastest vehicles known to man. It's Suzuki I believe and my buddy let me drive his once and honestly I've never been so scared in my life.
