Packers | Gardner could be on the hot seat
Thu, 15 Jun 2006 09:16:45 -0700
Rob Reischel, of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, reports Green Bay Packers WR Rod Gardner could find himself off the team before the 2006 season starts. Gardner irritated the coaching staff by missing a large portion of the team's current OTAs.

yea he might get cut again

i wish we still had him

I thought missing minicamp was for guys with leverage. Not Rod Gardner.

Re: Rod Gardner

Man if we could sign him back, along with Micheal Westbrook...hot damn! We'd have an unstoppable duo!

Re: Rod Gardner

He had a breakout year in 05 so I think he wants a big payday or something. Oh and when I say breakout I mean BREAKOUT of the league for good.

Man I am glad we don't have these bad eggs on our team anymore. Gibbs and company just wouldn't put up with stuff like this. Gibbs is building a "family" and the family members just don't want to let each other down, which is why the Skins are having such a high participation rate during these Optional activities this spring and early summer.

To Gardners credit when he was here he was a team player his problems where his performance on the field and which palyer was going to play that day. The Gardner that could make the toughest catch in football or the Gardner who droped the 7 yard dump off that hits him in the numbers. He played hard he just forgot too often that he had to catch the ball first. If Greenbay dumps him I still think another team will take a chance on him for vet min.

Re: Rod Gardner

Apparently, his 50/50 nickname also applies to his ability to appear at practice.

You can't compare Rod Gardner to Desmond Howard: 1997 SuperBowl MVP.

Plus Desmond's Heismann pose in the endzone is much more memoriable than Rod's first down point thing, even it was in college.
