Kudos to the Houston Texan Fans

I just got back from Houston and I must say the facility they have there is top notch. The Texan fans are excellent and they are very hospitable. My wife and I sat in a section with all Texan fans and they were sick by the end of the first half.

One of the things I noticed is that they are really going through rough times in Houston, but the fan base is very loyal during these rough time. It was great in our section when a guy wearing a Dallas jersey came down the isle, he was booed with authority...even worse than I when I walked up and down the isle. LOVE IT!

If you ever get a chance, get to Houston for a game, it is well worth the trip and the facilities are very nice.

Yeah they seem very nice, and I saw alot of fans that stayed there till the end. That is very respectable.

Re: Kudos to the Houston Texan Fans

Maybe not having a team for a few seasons really makes a fan base appreciate it all that much more.

I'm still planning to go to the game in NO this December; hopefully I'll have a similiar experience. Although, I know the facilities won't be nearly as nice.

I doubt Los Angeles would appreciate a new team though.

I don't know what that city's problem is...they've lost a lot of teams over the history of football. The NFL wants a team in LA more than people in LA want a team.

Heres the one thing I never got. If they are such loyal texans fans, why didnt they do more to keep the Oilers in town. Theres that hilarious video where they have the save our oilers rally, and like 15 people come. Theres the indelible imagine of that old man in an oilers hate waving a little flag. Hilarious. Anyway, more power to them for sticking by the Texans.

Older Redskins fans know what rough times are all about. Kudos to the fans of the Texans for keeping the faith!

Absolutely!
Although this just proves that the Skins fans are the best in the world. We took crap for so many years yet we all stuck around. You might think this is typical of sports fans, but I assure you, it is not.
So yes, Congrats to the texans fans, but congrats to us!

Call me crazy, but I have a lot more respect for the fans who are inhospitable to opposing teams' fans. I like people who insist upon maintaining a good 12th man advantage, even if it means coming across like a jackass.

So you like when Santa Claus gets snowballs thrown at him while he's getting booed?

Re: Kudos to the Houston Texan Fans

I must give a BIG kudo's out to my best friend who is a Texans fan. He sat at my house yesterday and watched the game in my Redskins room but this time as the enemy and not just an antagonist. I watched him jump for joy and scream about how the Texans knew what Washington was going to do. How Mario Williams was going to have his breakout game against the Skins. While listening to Enter the Sandman I screamed at him, yelling in his face about how Clinton Portis coming back would change everything and that he knew it. The hard fought smile let me know that he did. As the Texans scored their first touchdown he was so happy. He told me how I should start drinking the Ciroc Vodka I had in my Redskins flask because it was going to be a long day. I must have felt that feeling a father gets when his son beats him in a game for the first time, only to break his heart and crush him the next. Time went by, and the Skins rolled on. I sang Hail To The Redskins and took a shot of said liquor each time the Skins scored. I sang Randel El whatcha say Randel El whatcha say Randel Andel, Randel Andel to the tune of Rick James' Give it to Me Baby when he says give it to me whatcha say, give it to me whatcha say, give it to me. I didn't plan it it just happened, my wife laughed at my song and offered him some more pizza if he was hungry. By the 3rd quarter he tried to fall asleep but I didn't let him. I wanted him to experience the loss just as he would if we made it to the game.

I'll give it to him, he is a loyal fan. Yesterday he was my bitch in the pregame game of Madden and then whined like one as the Texans lost the game.

HAIL !!!!
