The State of the Redskins (MERGED)
I just saw Ryan Clark make a great play, an interception. I watched Antonio Pierce play great against us. Trotter is one of the best middle line backers out there. Smoot is doing well. Would we have been better signing those guys? You bet we would have. They would have been cheaper and we would be alot better. Who agrees with that? I am pissed. I love Dan Snyder, for always trying, but this sucks. This post was locked out of extremeskins stadium forum, but unfortunatley it is the truth.

Re: WHATS WRONG WITH OUR FRONT OFFICE? Barber, Trotter, Smoot, Pierce, and Clark.
I totally agree, I think our front office has a secret deal with all the other NFL teams. Basically we breed talent, and after they become good we get ride of them. Other teams get their players, and Dan Synder gets his jollies watching the Skins lose. It is a win-win situation.
I say we bring back Green for CB, and Theisman, maybe we would have gotten those 3rd and shorts. Doug Williams anyone?

I guess you mean Dan Snyder, not Schneider

They should have kept Pierce, Smoot, and Clark. No question. Trotter I can't fault them for. He never played that well for us. Sean Barber was a long time ago.
You can't keep everyone, but we certainly got taken to the cleaners this off-season. We have taken a huge step back defensively.

Re: WHATS WRONG WITH OUR FRONT OFFICE? Barber, Trotter, Smoot, Pierce, and Clark.
trotter never would have been good for us. solely a run stopper, cant cover. i think he is hugely overrated because everyone loves the eagles (made the pro bowl with 58 tackles). letting pierce go was a HUGE mistake, and i wanted us to keep in badly. with smoot he showed his true colours in minnesota and thats not what we need. letting ryan clark leave was also very stupid. how can u say barber? dudes been injured sooo much over the last 5 or so years.

Re: WHATS WRONG WITH OUR FRONT OFFICE? Barber, Trotter, Smoot, Pierce, and Clark.
There is nothing wrong with our front office. They are geared up for marketing, not football. If Snyder wanted to put the best team on the field every year he would. 10 times out of 10 Snyder would choose to make the big splash as opposed to keeping a proven commodity.
Just wait when they bullshit Taylor and he walks. If extremeskins locked this thread they are living the lie and that is pathetic. Just like you I am tired of this bullshit. Brunell is a joke and Hall is even worse. Yet week after week we cheer them on like stupid sheep. F*ck you Dan Snyder. |

I was always a fan of Jawarhalal. The show was never the same when they let him go. Damn that front office!

Re: WHATS WRONG WITH OUR FRONT OFFICE? Barber, Trotter, Smoot, Pierce, and Clark.
I am glad to see some people thinking the same way i do. I do feel the front office tends to shaft players, sour on them, what ever the case may be. I do feel they messed up with Pierce, and Smoot. We let trotter go too early, he wasn't 100% recovered from the knee injury. I think he would have done well here in the attacking style of D we use. I think the dropped the ball on clark, but looking how Pearson played last year I dont think they could keep both. LaVar......not so sure. He was a fantastic player the first 4 or 5 years...no doubt about it. But the knee injury definately has slowed him down. And the learning the defense thing...well he never really go a chance to play in the defense for a full season to actually play in it to learn it. Now, he should have been more mentally prepared, but a lot of guys will tell you, the best way to learn is to be on the field. I think the biggest fault I have for this office is the Champ Baily fiasco.(I know I can't spell) I know he didn't really want to be here, but I think the tune may have changed had Joe sat and talked to him. I like Portis...HE IS THE MAN!! I wouldn't trade him for anything, but imagine if we had Champ on the outside in this defense. with springs or even Smoot still. We would be dominate. I always think running backs, productive running backs, can be had in the 2nd and 3rd of the draft. (kind of hard though when you dont have those picks, I know!) I always have a hard time thinking us giving up the best cover corner in the NFL, and a 2nd rounder. Shut down corners with Champs ability do not come often, but a productive 1200 yard back is pretty easy to find. Now, Portis is a true talent, definately one of the best in the NFL. Like I said, I wouldn't give him up for anything. But, if I had to choose a true shut down corner, the best in the NFL, or a running back. I take the corner especially with GW and his defense.

Re: WHATS WRONG WITH OUR FRONT OFFICE? Barber, Trotter, Smoot, Pierce, and Clark.
I can't a thread seriously when someone starts off with butchering the spelling of the owner's name.
Spare me the crying over players that are no longer on the team. Who cares. |

Re: WHATS WRONG WITH OUR FRONT OFFICE? Barber, Trotter, Smoot, Pierce, and Clark.
Good point. If we had a real QB no one would care about these other guys. Gibbs is the one tied to Brunell, not the front office.

Brunell isn't the only problem either, so let's stop with the tired Brunell bashing.
