Play GM, fix the Skins...
OK guys, we've all heard the same complaints about Brunell, and even the defense. But if you were GM, what exactly would you do to fix the team right now and / or next season?

Re: Play GM, fix the Skins...
Trade deadline is tomorrow, so theres really not much I'd do before then. I'd make sure to get a blocking TE or two either through the draft or trade. I'd draft a Bigger Defensive end with Pass Rush ability (Victor Abiamiri?) in the first and a Guard in the third. I'd sign a cornerback, Nate Clements would top my list. I would either restructure Brunell's deal or go out and get a veteran backup for Campbell. I wouldn't resign either Betts or Duckett, and would draft the best available RB in the 5th round. I'd try to add a vet run stopper at DT. That's where I'd look right now.

Re: Play GM, fix the Skins...
I'm not going to play GM because at this moment in time there's not much the Front Office can do.
Let's play coach instead. I'll be Gibbs. "Hey Al, we're dumping half your playbook and running the damn ball and getting back to power football. We'll implement more of your offense next year, but for now it's smashmouth or bust" |

Re: Play GM, fix the Skins...
I have seen this comment more than once, and it makes me nervous. Al Saunders is a proven offensive genius. So we need to embrace the system, do whatever it takes to learn it, and everyone who does not, get the fudge out. (that's right Brunell...you heard me.)

Re: Play GM, fix the Skins...
GM? first off, trade betts or duckett. they are both FA at the end of the year, so lets get something now. Betts would probably get more value since he has been playing. get a draft pick!! Not much we can do other than that. we signed Vincent today so that help the secondary and with spring coming back we should be ok there. Drop brunell, keep collins and sign a vet to compete for 2nd or 3rd QB. Take the highest pick we have and get a DE worth a damn or an impact MLB. maybe sign a corner in the offseason. Rogers gets burned way too much. I can go out there and give the guy 10 to 15 yard cushon. we need a big physical corner in the aggressive D, that can jam the WR at the line. get some O-line depth.

Re: Play GM, fix the Skins...
I wouldnt sign over priced Fa, use the draft trade down and pick up extra draft picks. See what campbell and rocky have since we used like 5 extra picks on those two players. Keep our player who produce not disrespect them like they have been since snyder been here. Draft big uglies on the dline and oline every year. Never draft a reciever in the first round or from fla. Hasnt workout for us since 80 when we got monk. When we do make trade will not trade extra picks in the trade[bailey-portis and a second round pick]{lloyd 3 and 4 found pick} etc. Also if we trade one of our own we wil get full value for our pick not just a crappy 7 rounder like we always do. Get signing bonus back if the player want to be traded{coles}. Get rid of the white on white uniforms. Have scouts all over the place looking for gems in the draft or undrafted fa. Spend 10 million on that instead of over priced fa. Hail to the skins.

Re: Play GM, fix the Skins...
Well, let's see..............1.Start Campbell 2.Put Brunell out to pasture! 3.Package Patton & Duckett or Betts. 4.Get new "shut down" corner(Nate Clements)5. Get a Kick-ass DE who can rush the passer! 6.Use the draft to acquire depth. For starters! HAIL from Nashville!

Re: Play GM, fix the Skins...
I would do the following:
1. Ask Saunders to run the ball more 2. Ask Williams to give some special juice to the entire defense 3. Shoot myself |
