Just to set the record straight (Denver Draft Pick in 07')
Just to set the record straight.....
The only way that the Broncos get to trade with our first round pick in 2007 is if we have pick #21-30 and they have a higher number in that catagory. (Ie' we have #21 and they have #28, then they would pick 21st and we'd pick 28th).... If we continue to be the worst team ever, and get a top 5 pick, we will keep it unless we trade it elsewhere.

Thank heavens.
Now let's just hope the front office doesn't give us another dud like Carlos Rogers. |

I would say Rogers is talented, but has a ways to go before we can say he's good. It doesn't help that our front seven has been horrible. Yes there have been injuries, but I never imagined that after adding Archuleta and Carter that we'd be this bad. I'd call that subtraction by addition. Ryan Clark never looked so good.

not on this defense. a top 10 CB should be a number 1, but right now he's a #2 at best. he is a good tackler and decent in zone, has size, but he gives too much cushion and isn't all that fast for a CB, drops ints, and struggles in man, which is disappointing :/.

but he's more than servicable in my opinion. He's getting alot more heat than he deserves so far this season.

Re: Just to set the record straight (Denver Draft Pick in 07')
We've got a 1st, 5th, 6th, and 7th. We traded a high 2nd rounder for Rocky McIntosh; a guy who has yet to crack the starting lineup. We traded a high 3rd rounder for TJ Duckett; a guy who has yet to be used at all. We traded a high 4th rounder for Lloyd; a guy who can't get the ball because Brunell cannot see anyone but Moss or Betts. Frustrating anyone?

but I dont understand why we gave up a 2nd round pick to move up a few slots. I feel like we could have done it for less. I'll never understand the Duckett thing. I'm fine with the Lloyd trade, that will work out for us in the long run I think.

There were times when I questioned the need for linebacker -- with Springs getting up there, I always thought one more stab at a cornerback was a bigger need. Jimmy Williams was still there when we traded up. But we moved up quite a bit to get McIntosh -- it wasn't just a few spots. Just checked NFL.com -- we went from #53 to #35 in the 2nd round to get Rocky. |

This was exactly what I was telling you guys after the this year and last years draft of giving away picks like candy to try to fix the problems right now Campbell cost you guys this year first (a third and a fourth) and he was a early second rounder in every draft board and you allready had a high second rounder, McIntosh cost you a second and a six and with the knee history nobody expected hi mto go high. Anyway with the looks of how this season is going your are looking at a high draft spot again in wich you could had grabed 3 future startes for the next 10 years and now you only have 1 pick. this thing of using draft pick like you're playing madden and you can make a C. Rogers play like a Deion Sanders or Brunnell like Peyton Manning it doesn't work in real life. |
