Adam Archuletta
I cant remember if this is true or not, but I think lovie Smith really wanted Adam to become a Bear this year. Do you think that despite his situation this year, Adam could still be considered an impact player and traded for a good price to someone like the Bears?

Re: Adam Archuletta
Traded with his current contract? Yeah right. He's got zero value, especially considering we're going to cut him in all likelihood.

In all seriousness, I think our best option with Adam is to try to maneuver a position switch. I still think hes a good football player, hes just not a good saftey. I think if you can bring him up to maybe play some weak side LB or somthing like that, it could be a good chance.

Re: Adam Archuletta
It's funny when that's the best you can say about the highest paid S in the league. Or sad. I'm not sure which yet.

Re: Adam Archuletta
I don't think he's that bad of a player, I think that if we didn't have ST, he would be the main safety, but you cant have two captains commanding one ship. I just thought that maybe someone else would see that and want him. I think that someone would be at least willing to give up a 4th rounder for him because they wouldnt pick up the signing bonus on his contract. But then again I havent been following football seriously for more than a year now, so I dont know how theses situations normally work out.

Re: Adam Archuletta
I agree.
I feel we are all down on Arch because he hasn't fit our mold and we've asked him to do waaaay too much in pass coverage. Adam has NEVER been a great pass defender, he's a run stopper. He'd be great in our system if we actually had CB's and a safty that liked to pass protect as well. Taylor and Arch together was not a good idea. Ronnie Lott was one of the best hitters in all the NFL, but he played pass defense. Both our safties don't do both. I actually like the idea of moving him to LB. (someone brought that up) He loves to hit the hole and knock people senseless. He has good speed (not great) and his size is 6'0" 223 lbs, Zach Thomas is 5'11" 228. Not a big difference. With our HORRIBLE lb's (minus Washington) we could use him!!!

Re: Adam Archuletta
It's incredibly stupid -- it all seems like he's being "LaVar'ed" out of spite, just to send a message, and does anyone think that Arch Deluxe would be worse out there than any of the other ringers we've got?
It really feels like there is something personal between he and Grilliams that has landed him in the doghouse. I can't believe this guy is just sitting for the amount of money he was paid and for how much PT he's seen in his career. |

Re: Adam Archuletta
We should just ask him to redo his contract since im pretty sure he wants to play then we could trade him to the bears or we could give him like $4 million and tell him to leave us alone

Re: Adam Archuletta
there was a reason that the skins brought him here. i say give him at least one more year to see if we can utilize him the right way

Re: Adam Archuletta
Archuletta has only been effective as a safety in the NFL when he's the 8th man in the box.
He's not the right match with Taylor. The secondary and Taylor play better when the opposite safety is more of a coverage guy.
