Trade Fred Smoot for Adam Archuleta?
Of course I'm dreaming, don't give me a hard time.
But you never know if someone in the Redskins front office reads TheWarpath.net. Please discuss.... Oh yeah, Merry Christmas! 12M |

Re: Smoot for Archuletta?
I would say Minnesota is not that stupid, but the Hershel Walker fiasco is still in my mind.

Re: Smoot for Archuletta?
Oh, and I forgot to say...the reason we let Smoot go to Minnesota is because they over paid for him. Are the Skins willing to say they made a mistake in not signing him to a huge contract and take him back?

Re: Smoot for Archuletta?
I dunno, I recall Smoot as a decent cover corner. Just cause he's no bonafide #1, doesn't mean he can't be an exceptional #2.
Bailey and Smoot were the best CB tandem in the league.

Re: Smoot for Archuletta?
Whooaa...I don't know about that! Smoot wasn't as good as Champ Bailey, but Smoot could cover (better than what our secondary has been doing this year!) He also was a very good tackler. It couldn't hurt us by taking Freddy back!

Smooty was serviceable as a cover corner, but a good tackler he was not. When it came to tackling he was much like his predecessor #21. He thought all there was to playing corner, was to cover, he often wound up injured when he attempted to tackle. Had he been better at that element of his game, the team would have been willing to pay him what he was looking to get in a new contract. I would take him for AA though, if Minnesota would take his contract too.

Re: Smoot for Archuletta?
This Leon Hall kid from Michigan sounds like a heck of a CB, maybe Gibbs and the boys might take him in the draft. Hopefully they can also sign someone like Nate Clements as well. As much as I like Shawn Springs, he's just is a little too fragile to really count on now. Hopefully a good Defensive Lineman can be added as well. As far as Smoot for Archuletta, well, they both suck, so who cares? Archuletta was just a terrible signing and hopefully the Skins can cut their losses with him in the offseason in some form.

Re: Smoot for Archuletta?
Maybe I'm wrong, but I do recall Smoot's mouth writing checks his play couldn't cash! Maybe if he would just shut the hell up and play, I would feel differently.

I do not think that AA will be that bad of an aquisition after all is said and done. He certainly has the skills maybe a good off season will help him out...at least let's hope so. |

Re: Smoot for Archuletta?
Smooty flakes broke his jaw in a car accident. That sounds fun.
