75th Anniversary in 2007

Anyone have any ideas on some of the things that the Skins may do special next year? I know they wore special Uniforms in their 70th anniversary year. The 75th year seams like it would be more special. I personally don't care for their 70th anniversary uni's and would love to see the Skins come up with a new Alternate uniform.

I hate to be flippant, but maybe getting back to the playoffs would be a good way to celebrate. Seriously though, the Redskins are a special franchise and just celebrating the history of the franchise would be good enough in my opinion. There's no need to mess with the uniforms again, I thought those 70th anniversary uniforms were awful to say the least, they were probably made that much worse by the awful team wearing them at the time.

I would one day like to see the uniforms we wore in the early and mid 70's. Burgundy top and the gold bottoms for home and the white for road games. But it ain't gonna happen. And your right. We need to make the freakin playoffs. 5-11 ain't makin bacon.

I loved those 70th anniversary jersey's. The spear helmets. Was that Marty or the year before?

I'd rather them win in 2007 but some retro uni's would be cool. The "R" helmets or the spears would be ok.

I guess they were decent, but I don't care for the retro jersey craze at all in any sport. I thought it was the silliest thing when the New Jersey Nets wore their retro jersey's during the NBA Finals a few years ago. To answer your question, Spurrier was the coach during the 70th anniversary season and I put "coach" generously.

Ahhh, you are right. I remember Shane Matthews and Danny W. wearing the retro's. Yeah, retro or not i thought they were pretty cool even though we had a crappy team.

my favorite helmets were always the ones with the two feathers in the back...it would be cool if they did like a history of uniforms thing...and wore a couple different throwbacks

Yes. It seems more like 20. Everybody hold on to your wallet (or purse).

You know what would be real super cool. If they wore a different throwback for each home game. I loved the 'R' helmets and uniforms. All of them are great in their own respect. I wonder if they are thinking of doing that? we will see.

I still don't understand why the team made the 70th anniversery such a big deal. It just seems like an odd number to celebrate, especially since you know that the 75th was right around the corner. Well, I guess many of us bought into it 5 years ago and probably will again this time around.

Why? Simple... there was alot of money to be made with all the retro merchandise.

I'd be shocked if we don't see something for the 75th. Another big money making opportunity and after all that is what Snyder does well. And of course we'll buy in like the suckers we are.

There is another anniversary that will be celebrated this year as well, right Matty?
