Re: Compiled Mock Draft Results

Thats the problem with Mocks--everybody and their grandma does them. Certain ones are informative, but only if they have inside information.

True, but you can never tell which one REALLY has the scoop. Jesus, I read one of em and I changed my mind and thought we might take J. Anderson. LOL. No I'm pretty sure we take Branch seeing as how a lot of people kinda snub Adams even though a lot of those mocks had us getting him. Weird.

Well, you have Kiper who usually has the inside scoop; Florio's got his sources at PFT; and some local media outlets have info on their teams.

None of these sources know anything right now, but their mocks will get more accurate as we get closer to the draft.

We've got to stop the run first.

Draft Branch. He'll open things up for the other D-linemen.

Re: Compiled Mock Draft Results

At this point the mocks are more about who they think we SHOULD draft more than anything else. I doubt any team has anything remotely close to read on where there going in the draft much less any experts.

I don't think we can wrong with either Anderson or Branch. Branch will be a solid inside presence for years starting right away. Anderson could be a special player but will most likely need some work. To me if we have to choose between the two it is a good problem to have.

Well, you're right in the sense that we need help at both spots.

But, more fundamentally, you have to stop the run first. If you can't stuff the run, there's no need to pass.

I agree we need much more pressure on the QB. But if we draft Adams or Anderson we're still going to get gashed through the line.

And when you're going against the team with the fewest sacks in the NFL you don't care what the interior of that line looks like, because you have all day to throw the ball.

We were #23 against the pass, #27 against the run.

Carter and Daniels will get you some sacks, but Griffin and Salave'a won't stop anybody.

You have to stop the run first. Draft Branch.

Re: Compiled Mock Draft Results

why does drafting a good defensive tackle seem to mean that they are great against stopping the run to everyone here?

cause branch is 350 and pretty good vs the run, and that's really the only guy being looked at at DT.
