How Much Would You Charge To Do This?
My moms friend wants me to upload 6 audio cassette tapes to CD. Each tape has roughly 40min on each side (Side A, Side B). I've looked around for people who do this on google, and have found nothing, so im kinda in a error. I dont have any clue how much to charge. Should I do 5 dollars a tape, 10 dollars, I mean how much?
So how much would you charge?

I've done some work for a rich friend ...
I setup a wireless network for her (basically plug and play). I said it was no sweat -- no charge ... she gave me $200. Maybe you should just let her decide the price?

It's tricky with friends and family. If you have to purchase extra equipment to do the job, she aught to pay and keep if she wishes. Personally, I would charge her what I get paid per hour in my job minus 33% discount.

Hell, I only DON'T charge if you're a member of the family, otherwise you pay fifty an hour like everyone else.

6 tapes x 40 minutes on each side = 480 minutes divided by 60 minutes = 8 hours x $50/hour = $400!!!
I'll do it for $375.

just pretend you dont know how.... hardly anyone knows I'm a licensed electrician... I always overhear people needing crap done to their house... and I refer them out just to avoid the whole "how much do I charge freinds/acquaintances" thing...
BUT if its too late for that and they know you can do it for them, whatever it is.... and they refuse a freebie you need to overcharge like hell. She's purposely putting you on the spot and offering to pay so that she "doesn't take advantage of people" when that's exactly what she's doing, so make her pay! Tell her you'll do it for 1200 bucks or so and maker her stop you...
