Pastabelly bashes J. Gibbs

What a jerk!

Then again, money doesn't always translate into success.

At about $5.7 million per year, Gibbs is one of the NFL's top five highest-paid coaches, but it hasn't bought him a fourth Super Bowl ring. Three seasons into his second incarnation as the Redskins' coach, Gibbs has, to this point, proven to be an ordinary Joe, with a record of 22-28 and just one postseason victory.

Well, at this point in Gibbs rebirth, he is right.... but I do want to point out Dick Vermill (I know I can't spell)..... He seemed to flounder with the Rams for several years and then suddenly CLICK..... The Greatest Show on Turf.

I wouldn't take that personally. As happy as I am that he is our coach right now, because I believe he is restoring our franchise (albeit slowly), the numbers don't point to success in the past three years.

Re: Pastabelly bashes J. Gibbs

Really, the only reason he wrote that is that when Gibbs came back LP said in three years he would just be an "ordinary Joe." So really he just wanted an excuse to stick that in some article to basically say "I told ya so"

JG will get the last laugh

I don't think there is anything that bad in the article. You can't exactly praise the second coming of Gibbs....yet.

Why is he a jerk? Guy it the story right on the money. 22-28 plus all the terrible FO moves. So far it's not very good. The truth hurts.

Yes, the only reason people are not slamming Gibbs here in DC is because we know what he is capable of and still believe.

Not that this would happen, but imagine if Gibbs has 2 more bad years.... what do you think the fans would say then?

Re: Pastabelly bashes J. Gibbs

Oh, just think of this as Pastabelly being in the grocery store and getting free samples of sesame chicken from the little old lady at the frozen foods section. Once the samples are gone and he has to start paying for it, you won't see him anymore. Just like when Gibbs and company get all the kinks worked out, the only complaint Pasta will have is that the Redskins didn't beat their opponents by more than 50 points a ball game!

Gibbs record is what it is right now. I'm not denying that, I'm just tired of Fatty P constantly throwing digs out there. Seriously, this guy is like a spoiled child. He just can't stop himself.

No worries! This guy is a clown.

There is only one way to prove em wrong! Joe will prove he's no ordinary Joe!

STAY TUNED! IT'S TIMES LIKE THIS WHEN JOE REALLY GETS THE MOST OUTTA HIS TEAMS!

Re: Pastabelly bashes J. Gibbs

Its funny how they talk about JG calling him an "ordinary Joe" but on the other hand Bills Parcell quit and didn't win any superbowl in his cowboy comeback he's called one of the greatest coaches ever.... PLEASE!

Great leaders are never "done". It may take some time to "right the ship", but we did make the playoffs in 2005. Let's look at JG's track record: 3 Superbowl wins and 4 SB appearances in 11 years, with 3 different QBs, then transitioning to NASCAR and winning two Championships with different drivers. These championships are testaments to a man who can build and lead a team (with not necessarily the best talent) to victory.
The dynamics of building an NFL team have changed greatly since JG's first run, (salary cap) and the mess the Skins were in can't be fixed overnight (ownership change, coaching changes, Free Agent mistakes by the Daniel). But those of us who remember the 80s firsthand will have optimism as long as JG is here.

P.S. If ESPN sacked Joey T. from MNF, why the hell do they still let Pastabelly spew his crap, the guy is a fat, pompus idiot.
