Saints sign David Patten

Could be a good move for them if he can actually hit the field

Yeah, he could make up some of Joe Horn's production if he can stay off the IR list.

He'll probably be the 4th or 5th WR on their roster. I doubt he'll get alot of playing time.

I agree Marques Colston, Terrence Copper, and Devery Henderson will all be ahead of Patten on the Saints depth chart.

Does anyone understand why the skins released him. And dont blow smoke up my but with the injury thing. There are several players on our roster who are injury prone.

Probably because he only had like 25 catches in 3 years. The poor guy couldn't stay healthy.

Too much risky to keep, too many injuries, poor catches, no involvement in our offense. Never was a fit.

injury prone & doesn't play spec. teams. As a 4th wr, it is tough to keep a guy on the roster that doesn't play spec. teams. Thrash is a great #4 & plays teams well.

The saints will have a tough decision to make come final cuts, cause Patten isn't anywhere near their top 1-3 wr's, and I don't think they can suddenly turn him into a spec. teams dude.

I thought he would be a significant, not huge, help to us last year, but he couldn't suit up for the most part.

I don't remember the exact figure, but I think he was scheduled to cost the Redskins 3million+ on the salary cap this year.

Way too much for a guy with his production.

more like 33 or 34 i think...LOL not a 100. I doubt he makes much noise there. they have some young talent playing WR down there. But i wish him will.

Re: Saints sign David Patten

They probably just want him to be the veteran leader of the receiver corps.

Re: Saints sign David Patten

Might be a decent depth move, if he can stay off the IR.
