It's LaRon Landry!
I am surprised almost an hour after the pick no one has posted it.
I think it's the right pick, sounds like it's very tough to trade down, to much talent throughout the first rd. I don't have the same feeling with Landry that I had with Taylor, but once he get's acclamated to the NFL game he should make a big difference in our secondary as far as freeing up Taylor, and providing much needed help for our CB's. |

Re: It's Landry!
i wanna see Landry in the box to stack up on the run and that would free up Shawn Taylor to be the ball hawk he naturally is

Re: It's Landry!
Yeah, clearly Brady Quinn wasn't attractive enough for anybody to trade up to our position.
While I still think the defensive line is a huge liability, Landry was the only other player we could have selected that I wouldn't have been pissed about. I guess they really like what they've got with Golston and Montgomery. |

Re: It's Landry!
You do realize every year there is some great defensive lineman in the draft, and how many of them are a success? Landry helps our D in a big way, was there a dominant defensive lineman in the draft? no, not at all, we picked the best player available and the best player to help our defense.

Re: It's Landry!
Someone mentioned it once...In Greg W. Defense the rushers usually are not linemen. Usually its CB, LB, or Safety's. We all think we know who the Skins should pick including myself ( I wanted CJ or Okoye) but I think GW knows how his defense works best. He has had top 10 defenses in the past w/o the rushes coming off the line. I'll agree it will help but he knows his D. Last year we had to many injuries on the line and in the back field to do what he wanted to do. hopefully this year we will have fresh legs out there on most plays and still be able to get the rush.

I agree with this--GW knows what his type of D needs. Plus, if there isn't a great D-lineman on the board, you've got to take the best player. Our FO rated Landry the top.

Re: It's Landry!
Maybe someone should tell G, Williams ,, " if his front four could generate a pass rush , his blitzing would be much more effective . Landry is a great player , but they should make a deal and grab a pass rusher . I look forward to seeing Mr. Landry knocking the shit out of Eli and Romo - homo !!!

I agree......I wanted to take a D-lineman also, DT/DE either would have been OK, but as we got closer to draft day it became obvious that the team did not see the value they were looking for from any of the top prospects. They decided to take what they considered to be the best defensive player available in Landry. I can live with the pick, but hope we make an effort to improve some along the d/line as the preperation continues.

Re: It's Landry!
Same for Calvin Johnson. If he were still available at sixth overall we would've drafted him. CJ was likely the only player we had ranked ahead of Landry.
