Earnhardt to Hendrick...wow!
didn't see that coming.
ESPN - Sources: Earnhardt Jr. will drive for Hendrick in '08 - Nascar if he can't win a championship at hendrick then he can't win one at all. |

Gordon and Lil E are friends too, so the fact that he is friends with Stewart meant nothing.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Kyle Busch now

Re: Earnhardt to Hendrick...wow!
Junior is expected to take over Busch's #5 Chevrolet for Hendrick. The team would like to keep Busch somehow, but an extension may not work out. So he could be headed elsewhere...Gibbs Racing perhaps?

Gibbs won't hire an ass like Busch.
Good luck to Jr. peace

Re: Earnhardt to Hendrick...wow!
Personally, I think Busch to Ginn racing could make a lot of sense. They've got a lot of money to spend and Mark Martin won't be around forever.
Matty, I disagree with your assesment that Kyle Busch might turn around and head to DEI. I'd be surprised if that happened.

Re: Earnhardt to Hendrick...wow!
As Rusty Wallace said, the rich get richer. I wish nothing but the best for Jr, but it will be weird to see him away from DEI. I really thought he would end up at RCR. Another good thing about going to an established team, is that he doesn't have to worry about qualifying as the 5 or 25 car will both be in the top 35 in owner points.

Re: Earnhardt to Hendrick...wow!
FOX Sports on MSN - NASCAR - What effects will Junior's move have?
Junior will be in the #5 or #25 for Hendrick. If he gets the #25, Mears will move to the #5. Kyle Busch is the odd man out, and DEI has stated that they may have an interest in Kyle if he becomes available. Busch won't come to JGR, as they have 3 high quality drivers, with a few guys ready in the shoot. The biggest question now becomes whether Budweiser will follow Junior or not, and was that the big divider that pushed him away from JGR. If Bud does not follow (which is highly unlikely, they are under contract thru this year, so a jump in '08 is possible), Truex will be in the #8, and Junior's replacement will drive the #1. It will be interesting to see how Gordon, Johnson and Junior will do together. While it is a "team" sport, when push comes to shove, it's all about the driver.

Re: Earnhardt to Hendrick...wow!
Hum.....Gordon and Jr. on the same team....? Bet the Jr. fans are not so fond of those two being on the same team?
