Training Camp Insider: Shawn Springs Excued Again (Let's Keep Our Fingers Crossed For
Shawn Springs left practice about 20 minutes in, and had to return to the hospital. He chatted briefly with Coach Joe before sprinting off the field and leaving. His wife gave birth to a baby boy this week, but something came up back at the hospital. Coach Joe will update the situation after practice and obviously we're all hoping for the best. Also, Rocky McIntosh is not here. His wife had a baby girl and Rocky is expected back for tomorrow's practice. Clinton Portis actually donned a helmet and pads for some light drills after spending the first hour or so working out on the sidelines with Santana Moss. Clinton did some individual work, but really any team stuff. Still, it's more than we expected. In the personnel department, Jason Campbell looked very sharp in team drills, moving the ball and threaded tough passes in the red zone. It was

It's always sort nutso when a baby first arrives for a while. Especially when it was a little early and not expected. This stuff will peter out and Springs will be back ballin' without interuption soon.

Here in our local market, the sports radio station has an online poll asking which of the four NFC East quarterbacks you'd rather have.
We have such an anti-Redskins sentiment here, Campbell was a distant fourth last I heard. |

More drool material, Cooley on Campbell:
"I had a great day with him," Cooley said. "We got together five or six times. Jason's making huge strides. I feel good about what I'm doing. ... He threw me a ball today that was two feet behind me because he said he saw some room in the zone. He sees things that are unbelievable for a young quarterback." |

With regards to Shawn Springs skipping practice because his baby had to go back the doctors I really want to see him return ASAP. I was born with jaundice, and besides making my dad think my mom cheated on him with a asian guy it is nothing at all. No reason for SS to miss practice.
