End of First Half?

I didn't see this anywhere, sorry if it is.

But what happened? Did we really call a timeout to save Arizona from a Delay of Game? Is there a 10 second run off for a delay of game under two minutes? If so, does anyone know if the coaches have given and explanation?

We called a timeout with 3-6 second left in the half? Arizona came out with Boldin at QB and the play clock was down to 0 and we got charged with a timeout instead of a delay of game. They scored the next play.

I didn't see any Redskin, player or coach, call a TO on that play. The umpire threw the flag way before the sideline ref ran in waving his arms.

No we called a time out to change up some players.

We called a timeout with 6 seconds left, on 3rd and 2. I seriously doubt it was to save them from a delay of game.

Re: End of First Half?

We called a timeout because we didn't like the look they gave us. What's the big deal?

The Big Deal was there was no time on the Play Clock, and I'm not sure what the Rule is but I believe if you have no timeouts it is a 10 second run off. Other than that I have no problem with the fact that we wanted to shuffle our players but someone should be aware that they weren't going to get the Play off in time. All in All i just hope the coaches learn from that mistake.

So should they have just taken the chance that they wouldn't get the play off in time and not called a TO? That makes no sense.

I agree you don't take that chance 100%. But why call the timeout when the playclock was already at 0? I mean the Delay of the Game Flag was on the field already. That is what is infuriating.

Well if it happened the way you stated that they flew the flag for delay of game then we take a time out and they pick up the flag. That does not make sense because they allready had the penalty and the timeout would not change that. I

They obviously called TO before the play clock ran out.

Re: End of First Half?

I saw this too and practically jumped out of my window. On replay, the announcers stated that there was some confusion on the 'Skins defensive line up and they had to call a time out! Can you believe that?! It seems the first half offensive foul ups are now migrating to the defense before the half!! It really makes one wonder what the hell is going on with our coaching staff.

Re: End of First Half?

it is a 10 second run off which would have meant no TD... who cares if they had boldin at qb, it would have ended up the same way it did when they tried it later, our coaches have no confidence in our players in times when they really really need too.

Re: End of First Half?

Gregg Williams or Coach Gibbs said that London Fletcher called the timeout because he didn't like the defensive call against Arizona's alignment for that particular play. As much leadership as Fletcher has demonstrated, I'll trust that we were in a bad look for that play.
