Gibbs Alludes to Mark Rypien

During gibbs press conf.he was asked about his past QB's and their growing pains. He said at one point (which I recall) Rypien lost his starting job because he couldnt take care of the ball.

I sure hope he isnt concidering pulling JC. MB sure had plenty of time to redeem himself and couldnt. JC f..... up two games but what qb hasnt?

It's true. Some people have been blaming JC for losing the past two games, but we have to remember that he was the reason the games were even close to begin with. He's going to throw INTs, and he's going to fumble the ball, and he deserves some patience from the fans.

That being said, I'm still incredibly angry about all 3 of those interceptions.

Coach Gibbs isn't going to pull Jason Campbell, I know that for a fact. What everyone needs to remember is that Jason is only 25 years old, and hasn't yet completed an entire season as a starter. I think, in my eyes, that he's improved immensely since his first NFL start (which incidentally was against Tampa). I think the next two weeks we will get back over .500, and right back into the wild card mix. The season isn't over yet folks!

I dont see him pulling Campbell either. Even though Campbell may be to blame or some people are blaming him, bottom line is which QB gives your team the best chance to win.

I don't think JC will be pulled, I think Gibbs was just trying to say that JC is young and is going to make mistakes but JC definitely needs to play smarter.

I dont really think so either but JC's confidence has to be shaky as hell.

Hearing Gibbs say that may make it worse or could push him to the next level.

Hell who knows. You know what opinions are like.

Only in the last stages in the game has his confidence been shaky to me. How many career starts does JC have 16-18 I lost count but look how long it took Peyton to beat the Patriots a while he has been put in positions to win last two games but you will have to lose a couple to know how to win.

Any Qb that throws 50 times a game is going to have turnovers. He shouldnt be benched, Portis should be benched (joking) for fumbling twice and have almost zero running game. Way to get man handled on the 4th and 1. Most of this team is seriously overratted but I wouldnt say that about J campbell.

I read in another thread somehwere tonight that if Portis dresses up for interviews after this performance he needs his ass kicked. I concur.

If he wont bench Brunell after all the games that he cost us the last 4 years then JC has to bad games...that will be it. I will be off the Gibbs bandwagon. I doubt tha Portis will dress up. He has only dressed up after wins.

Yeah, I'm not sure why Portis couldn't fight through those 3 Bucs who hit him in the backfield. :cheeky-sm

Very very good point. Not to make excuses for JC cause those were bad passes. You just have to take care of the ball down in the red zone. But anytime you throw it that much, you are asking for TO's.

Would Gibbs bench Samuels as well? Would he bench Kendall for letting his guy through to stop us when we only needed a foot? the O Line is more responsible for most of the fumbles because they let our guys get hit by multiple tacklers.

I don't know, that might be just about as ridiculous as saying its Joe Gibbs fault that we had all those fumbles. Give me a break, Clinton is a running back and should be used to getting hit by 2+ guys on the same play, fumbling is inexcusable.

Re: Gibbs Alludes to Mark Rypien

It is mainly our Olines fault for all of JC's fumbles, he gets blindsides at least once a game, they need to step up in order for him to get over the next hump in his short career
